Ray's Cafe & Tea House Philadelphia Chinatown Gem in Philly on 9th Street Ray and Grace are the best. The food is unbelievable! Everything is prepared fresh from the teas and coffees to every bite you put into your mouth. We could not stay away!...The spring rolls were the best we have ever had. We got to see them prepared right in front of our eyes. The dumplings were plump and fried to perfection. Orange beef was our favorite. We have never had any that delicious. We always look for spots locals choose for their meals. This is it in Chinatown. Give Ray and Grace the opportunity to feed you well and you will go back! They are open 9-5, so breakfast, lunch, and early dinner are available. They offer delivery and will ship teas and coffees. Enjoy!More

Ray’s is a Philadelphia institution when it comes to quality coffee and teas. Many people swear by this location for their hot beverages of choice. But did you know that they have some serious bragging rights regarding their food? Well in my opinion they have...some of the best steamed pork and Chinese cabbage dumplings around accompanied by a delicious Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup to make it a complete and fabulous meal. Trust me, head there to enjoy something good to drink and stick around a little longer and have a bite to eat.More

Had the Chicken Curry Dumpling and the House special noodle soup! Amazing, probably the best I ever had! Everything is fresh and homemade and the family that runs it are very nice.

A tiny storefront on a not too busy block houses Ray’s Cafe. There’s limited seating inside with bare bones decor; but oh my what a feast awaits you. Lunch specials run from about $8-$12 and include a cup of soup or salad and a beverage....Our party of four had a more than filling lunch at $60 total including tax & tip. The owners/servers are warm and gracious. Food is excellent. Hot and sour soup has just the right amount of zing & the broth is clear and not weighed down with corn starch as a thickening agent. My fresh cucumber salad was lightly dressed, bright with lots of crunch. Entree size was moderate & perhaps would work as a shared item for two. No gloppy heavy sauces here and a decent amount of vegetarian choices. Highly recommendMore

The food and the coffee are absolutely amazing. If I had to pick one dish as a favorite, I'd choose the pork and leak dumplings.

Don't let appearances deceive you, this small place is a gem! They have siphoned coffee and it's neat to watch it be made. Be sure to try their house blend. Their general tso's chicken and hot and sour soup were the best I've ever had....They have great lunch specials that include the soup and a drink.More

Have a cup of Jamaican Blue Mt. Choice brewed in the most unconventional ways with the black bean chicken and you will not be disappointed. Also a unique variety of green teas and fantastic cookies.

We were shopping in China Town and saw Ray's and decided to give them a try. We were not disappointed. We started off with shrimp dumplings there were 8 of them and my wife and I loved them the price $6.50. I had sweet and...spicy flounder $13.00 and my wife had Sesame chicken $10.00 these dishes were amazing. Grace Chen one of the owners spent time with us and was just so very nice. I tried the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee iced and am absolutely sold this coffee is the best I have ever enjoyed. Bought a 1/2 lb. for home use and was not upset at spending $25.00 for it. We will definitely return to Ray's.More

We twice stopped by for coffee a few months ago but had not eaten a meal here. We decided to give it a try and were very pleased. There is a nice selection of Asian entrees. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The coffee...is excellent, especially the syphon coffee, although it's a bit pricey due to the extra work required to prepare it. We look forward to coming back.More
