After a tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary we stopped across the street at Zorba's. Casual, nice sidewalk dining, excellent food. Loved the stuffed grape leaves and appetizer combo. Daughter in from out of town had a minor question about her pita sandwich...literally before with waiter could finish explaining things the owner/ manager overhearing the conversation swooped in and took care of things...VERY ACCOMODATING!!! BTW the Soutzoukaki Pita was excellent!

WOW! I had heard of Zorba’s before, but never thought it could be as exceptional of an experience as it was. The authenticity of this place brings you to the magic of the Greek isles. The owner’s family runs a restaurant in Thessaloniki, so you know it’s going to be great!
I had a delicious lamb shank with artichokes and lemon, the flavors made me feel like I was overlooking the Aegean from a rocky cliff. The crisp lemon, the slight tang of the artichoke, the rich depth of the tender lamb—a symphony for the senses!
For dessert I enjoyed a fantastic Baklava, as well as tasting a moist and tender honey cake my parents got.
Service was efficient and so very friendly, you can tell the people here really care about you enjoying yourself. I cannot wait to return and try some of the other specialties on offer. This is a new regular spot for me!

Enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Zorbas! Food was delicious and portions good! Everything tasted so fresh and was cooked perfectly! Staff was so friendly delivering great service! Lunch platters came with choice of meat with sides of rice, potatoes, vegetables, pita and tsatziki. Had a delicious baklava for dessert. This is a cute neighborhood spot located right across from the penetetiary offering authentic Greek food at reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

Just came back from Zorba’s ... the food was mediocre, the service begrudging, and the delivery staff (who sat outside and right across from us) was noisy and smoked incessantly.
I love to support local restaurants. But I won’t be coming back here.

Love Greek food so the anticipation was high when we found Zorbas. The appetizer bread was very hard, so hard to eat that I gave up to avoid destroying the roof of my mouth. Greek salad came with some above avg moist Feta cheese. A vegan ordered the spinach thing and she said that was outta this world however our gourmet dinner and kids shared combination meal was standard greek fare you might expect from anywhere.

Our last review of Zorba's was in October 2015. Things have changed over the last 9 years....tablecloths, a bar (which our server said had been there about 7 months), Pepsi fridge instead of Coke fridge...Mussels appetizer was just ok...
The feta taste didn't come through. However, the gyro sandwiches with lightly toasted pita bread were fresh and delicious at a very reasonable $11.00. Friendly service. We won't wait another 9 years for our next visit! Easy walking distance from the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

I had dolmades and the charcoal lamb chops delivered. The lamb chops were too thin and therefore disappointing. The vegetables around the lamb chops, roast potatoes and rice (yes) and greens were wonderful. Even the tomato slices with the dolmades were wonderful. The explanation: this place has some fantastic olive oil. Keep that in mind when you make your choices. If you don't order something with olive oil, you are missing out.

My friend and I found this on a whim, as we were going to tour the Eastern State Pen, which is right up the street. I'm half Greek, so I tend to be picky about my Greek food when I eat out somewhere. I started with the dolmades, which were great. I had the lunch gyro platter, which was very tasty. Then to finish it off, I had the best baklava I've ever had in my life; it was soaked in honey at the bottom and was a little bit of heaven!

We ordered from door dash last night. The grilled chicken skewers were ok. The Village salad was in a pool of oil! I had to drain it. The feta was like the small feta crumbles you buy in the grocery store. Should be ashamed. You need to use a good feta block ands cut it into big wedges. The tzatziki had so much garlic powder in it. Overwhelming. We could not get the taste out of our mouth. candy, mouthwash. Barely helped. The calamari was fishy.
There are other better and less expensive places to eat.

These guys have the best calamari we've ever eaten, and we've had it all over Europe and North America. Also, the tzatziki was absolutely the best we've ever had. We had wine, beer, calamari, and tzatziki with pita at an outside table on the sidewalk across the street from our tour of Eastern State Penitentiary and it was beyond enjoyable!

Food quality is outstanding, real homemade with quality ingredients dishes. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and homie, the choice of plates and tablecloths makes you feel in a friend’s kitchen. People are kind, smiling and friendly. Perfect lunch in a sunny cold Philly day. Thanks!

We visited Zorbas Tavern for lunch last week and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance transported me back to Greece, reminiscent of my trip there last year. We ordered lamb chops, chicken kebab, and a Greek salad. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend Zorbas.

Returning to Zorba's after a time away was a great experience. We ordered takeout this time. It was delivered in a timely manner by a very friendly and efficient person. The food was hot and the same good quality that we remembered.

Stopped here today as we were in the area. Shared the cold appetizer combo which was delicious. My lunch partner opted for a salad which she enjoyed. I got the chicken sandwich (gyro) . I had them hold the fries that come inside the sandwich & it was enough!! Their pita bread is amazingly fresh ! We just had to share baklava to complete our meal and visit! Prices were very reasonable. Parking is available right across the street.
Staff were friendly! Service was good. Plenty of outside seating.
