WOW! I had heard of Zorba’s before, but never thought it could be as exceptional of an experience as it was. The authenticity of this place brings you to the magic of the Greek isles. The owner’s family runs a restaurant in Thessaloniki, so you...know it’s going to be great! I had a delicious lamb shank with artichokes and lemon, the flavors made me feel like I was overlooking the Aegean from a rocky cliff. The crisp lemon, the slight tang of the artichoke, the rich depth of the tender lamb—a symphony for the senses! For dessert I enjoyed a fantastic Baklava, as well as tasting a moist and tender honey cake my parents got. Service was efficient and so very friendly, you can tell the people here really care about you enjoying yourself. I cannot wait to return and try some of the other specialties on offer. This is a new regular spot for me!More

Absolutely delectable dinner for 4 on a Sunday evening. Appetizer platter, calamari, lamb shank, mussels - all superb. And very fairly priced!

Stopped here today as we were in the area. Shared the cold appetizer combo which was delicious. My lunch partner opted for a salad which she enjoyed. I got the chicken sandwich (gyro) . I had them hold the fries that come inside the sandwich...& it was enough!! Their pita bread is amazingly fresh ! We just had to share baklava to complete our meal and visit! Prices were very reasonable. Parking is available right across the street. Staff were friendly! Service was good. Plenty of outside seating.More

After a tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary we stopped across the street at Zorba's. Casual, nice sidewalk dining, excellent food. Loved the stuffed grape leaves and appetizer combo. Daughter in from out of town had a minor question about her pita sandwich...literally before with...waiter could finish explaining things the owner/ manager overhearing the conversation swooped in and took care of things...VERY ACCOMODATING!!! BTW the Soutzoukaki Pita was excellent!More

Today was our second visit to Zorba, and it was a fun experience like the first time. Tasty Greek food served quickly. And less than half the price of comparable Rittenhouse Square restaurants.

After a lengthy visit of the interesting Eastern State Penitentiary nearby, do yourself a favor and stop there to take a trip to Greece. The salads were so refreshing (and it was as hot day). You won’t regret it.

When I lived near Philly, I used to get to Zorba's frequently. On a recent trip back, I headed straight there. As a matter of fact, I ate there two of the three days I was in town. The food is still good and the...wait staff friendly. The atmosphere is old Philly: while it may be not be chic for millennials, it has a charm that is only enhanced with one of their desserts. I had dolmades and the charcoal lamb chops delivered. The lamb chops were too thin and therefore disappointing. The vegetables around the lamb chops, roast potatoes and rice (yes) and greens were wonderful. Even the tomato slices with the dolmades were wonderful. The explanation: this...place has some fantastic olive oil. Keep that in mind when you make your choices. If you don't order something with olive oil, you are missing out.More

We saw this restaurant while we were on the Tour of Philadelphia. When we went past this Greek tavern on the bus, it was packed. They had a sidewalk cafe outside and the regular places inside. Once the tour ended, I put the restaurant in...Google Maps and headed there. Parking was right across the street and very easy. We LOVED it!!! We both had the Gyro and it was delicious and not too much for lunch. My husband had the Greek Coffee and loved that too. Recommend for sure!!!More

Love Greek food so the anticipation was high when we found Zorbas. The appetizer bread was very hard, so hard to eat that I gave up to avoid destroying the roof of my mouth. Greek salad came with some above avg moist Feta cheese. A...vegan ordered the spinach thing and she said that was outta this world however our gourmet dinner and kids shared combination meal was standard greek fare you might expect from anywhere.More

Ok - a confession! We have loved Zorbas for years and it has a very special place in our hearts for lots of reasons. Great memories that my daughter recalls from her youth and now was able to bring her son here to experience as...well. She always orders the same - actually, we all always do that, but I assure you that no matter what you order - you’ll love it! However; here are some items we recommend: Horiatiki Salad, Taramosalata, Kopanisti, Hummus, Skordalia, Charcoal Sampler, & Shrimp Poseidon! Bring along some wine, sit back - maybe outdoors - and enjoy a great dining experience!More

Absolutely delicious! I had the lunch Gyros platter and ate every bit! It was a great lunch portion and left me full, but not stuffed. Everything had great flavor and seemed authentic. This is a great find and something different in Philly.

Went for lunch with my husband and 2 kids after the Arts museum tour. The server was very likable. The octopus appetiser was outstanding and so was the calamari. Lamb and chicken gyros were all great. Will definitely come again.

My friend and I found this on a whim, as we were going to tour the Eastern State Pen, which is right up the street. I'm half Greek, so I tend to be picky about my Greek food when I eat out somewhere. I started...with the dolmades, which were great. I had the lunch gyro platter, which was very tasty. Then to finish it off, I had the best baklava I've ever had in my life; it was soaked in honey at the bottom and was a little bit of heaven!More
