The food was great. Instead of our usual appetizer before dinner we added a chinese brocholi dish which was a fab addition to grab some veggies. I ordered shrimp green curry and rice and my hubby beef pho, a super big bowl. The wait staff was helpful when questioned and the food was prepared quickly. They told me my dish would be spicy which it was, but putting it together with the rice and brocholi it came down to my comfortable spice level and my tummy was happy. My hubby liked the pho broth alot as well as the noodles, meats and sprouts. He ate it all plus some brocholi. It was great for a rainy day in October after the hurricane remnants came thru. We enjoyed our dinner and even made the earlier train to home.

I have been coming here since my time in Drexel, which was 20 years ago. Upon returning to Philadelphia for a trip, I took two of my friends here for a lunch and everyone enjoyed the food. We shared a #1 Pho -- the special pho that has every ingredients in it and enjoyed it tremendously. We also shared a Banh Hoi. The food tastes good but it was a bit messy to handle it ourselves. The staff gave us rice paper and water and we had to make our own rolls. The rice paper is extremely sticky and we all messed up but still had some fun. The important thing is the food was amazing.

Overall positive experience. Not the best I ever had but definitely good. And you get a lot for your money. They did mix up whose soup was whose, and the appetizer came out after the soup. But overall positive.

Great spot. Eaten here many times over the years. They always deliver a fresh, authentically, prepared meal and they will add or omit anything you request in your meal without padding the bill. (like more Cilantro and extra lime wedges) Ownership has changed over the years, but management has been consistent. The location is a bit of a hole in the wall, but it’s clean and staff is very attentive. Always visit when we’re in Philly.

I used to LOVE this restaurant, it was AMAZING, everything was flavorful and exquisitely spiced and perfectly prepared. That was until August 2019 when new owners took over, now it is exceedingly mediocre, actually the dish my friend had (pho - should be the specialty) was really bad, they even used the wrong kind of noodle (subtle difference but if you know rice noodle well, you'll notice). The previous owners were from Viet Nam, they knew the food and were expert in preparing it. The new owners are from China's southeastern Fujian province, the food there is totally different (bland, no spice, a little sweet). I think these guys just bought a Viet Namese restaurant but actually don't know how to cook the food, the difference was night and day, amazing and delicious to meh, I'd eat there again if I were really hungry and it was the only place open. And someone else paid.

There's not much ambiance here but they take reservations and they have a bar. The spring and pork rolls very both very good. Sauces add a little heat. Pad Thai portions were enormous! I had the green curry which was good but would have liked more variety of vegetables. Food was very reasonable priced. Good service.

If you are ever in Philadelphia Chinatown and craving for some Vietnamese noodle soup, Pho Xe Lua or some of us referring to as the choochoo train noodle place is one of the better places to eat. Even all the locals go there, then they must be good, right? They are fast and efficient in getting your order placed and your food out to you from the kitchen. The price is reasonably and the services are above average. The only downside is the tight and small space with tables butting up to each other.

This restaurant has an interesting sign outside, very colorful! I ordered a Pad Thai and the portion is HUGE! I believe 2 people will be full after eating the place they serve for one person. I actually had to get a to-go box, as it was a lot of food. I was not impressed by the flavor of the food, I've been to other Thai restaurants that taste better.

Reading the reviews for this place prompted me to check it out. Overall the food is not great and the flavor of the dishes we ordered were very weak. The broth for the Pho was almost diluted, the stirred fried filet mignon (vietnamese shaking beef) was not even done the way it should be. The beef chunks were not seared then stir fried, depriving it of its flavor. Another dish I ordered was pan fried noodle with seafood had insufficient sauce and was plain to taste. There are better options to be had at Washington Ave, which I would go if I wanted Vietnamese food.

Perhaps we are used to a different type of Vietnamese in Europe. This was what I call Chinese. So not what I was expecting. Didn’t see anything Thai on the menu either. Busy enough. I had veg and crispy tofu. Okay. I wouldn’t go back as I don’t like that type of food.

It’s ok. Not great food. Cheap prices. Average service. Place is a bit scruffy. Would not return as nothing special.

Was exploring Philly’s Chinatown when we chance on this Vietnamese Thai restaurant. The exterior decor was unique. Restaurant is located in a side street. The place was crowded with diners. Have decided to try their dishes. Noodles was great. The server was reasonably quick in taking our orders. Nice Asian comfort food.

Price is very reasonable and it's one of the best/decent Pho around Philadelphia. The server needs better customer service as an improvement. They have Thai food on the menu, but i did not try it.
