For portions that are enormous, this is the place to go. Unfortunately, the food is just so-so, being mushy and oily. Granted, this may be the style of cooking from which the chef hails. The dining room is on the spartan side, and the owners are very pleasant. All in all, not worth a second visit. No reservations accepted for... More

We were visiting China Town and decided to enter in this little restaurant without checking my app and taken my chances. Well it turns out a clever decision. Excellent duck, nice dumplings, perfect fried rice and a nice Chinese old lady, helping us with our choices. We'll visit it again

Small authentic Chinese restaurant in Philly's chinatown section. Large menu without your typical "American" options like general Tso or sesame chicken. Staff is good but don't expect an "in and out" experience.

We enjoy this place mostly because of the friendly environment. They know us well and food is reasonably priced. specially good for after club hours. Highly recommend Chicken with black bean sauce. Yummy.

This is a small Chinese restaurant, not much decorations, but food is great. My husband eat at this place more than 30 years. Our favor dishes are salt & pepper squid, sizzling black pepper beef, beef with Chinese broccoli, seafood, Chinese eggplant and chicken with black bean sauce. Best place to order beef, very tender, seafood dishes you get a... More

Shiao Lan Kung is a really nice place for chinese. The food is better than your average chinese restaurant. It tastes and looks authentic. The serving sizes are generous, and the staff was really nice.

Sizzling beef is exactly that.....sizzling! The portions are huge so it's best to share. It's a local and family owned business, right in the middle of Chinatown. The mango pudding is the best mango pudding I've ever had! The staff is very friendly and hard working. Everything looks and tastes like authentic and amazing chinese food!

Shiao, as we call it, has been our "go to" place in Chinatown for nearly 15 years. We took many a friend who all agreed it was one of the best places in the city. It has gone through a number of roller coaster rides over the years and never fully recovered after Mr Kung died some time back. But... More
