This is your true dive bar set up. I mean where else can you get 4 drinks, including 2 shots for $11--!!!! Haaa! Outside looking in, Dahlak Restaurant, between 47th-48th Baltimore, you'd always think this spot was closed, think again my fellow Foodies-HaHa! Unsure what's behind door 1 & 2 is the entrance to this maze of a restaurant, very... More

Super cool bar/restaurant that a local took us to for karaoke night. There's a porch in the back and a bar but the front appears to be an Ethiopian restaurant.

I've been wanted to eat Ethiopian food for several years now so on my recent trip to Philly my wife and I saw it and went there for dinner. The restaurant barely looked open. Their "Open" sign was at the bottom of the window so driving by you wouldn't see it. The inside was dark and danky and the men's... More

Restaurant is old, run down, dark, and scary. I've seen nicer restrooms in bus stations. I didn't see the kitchen, but was afraid that it was similarly maintained as the restroom. Both of us had stomachaches the rest of the evening. Stay away.

By a wide margin, this is my wife's favorite place. We have been going here for 20 years and the place has maintained its personality and quality. Friendly staff, nice bar section added years back, amazing food, charming ambience, excellent value and the top of the Ethiopian restaurants in the city ( we have been to almost all of them).... Friends took us to Dahlak in West Philadelphia. The building itself is a bit worn and slightly run down. The restaurant is dark and looks like it could use a good facelift. Some of the tables are low round traditional tables made from wicker. They are a little low and look uncomfortable. You can also get a regular table (which... More

No silverware, minimal napkins, but lots of the spongy crepe like sourdough bread (injera) to scoop up the wide variety of aromatic and spicy dishes served family style on a tray. You just dig in! My family and I have been going to this restaurant for over twenty years. We have grown fond of the the owners and their gracious... More

I have always wanted to try Ethiopian food and finally convinced my family to try a restaurant that I read about while we in Philadelphia. It was early on a Sunday evening and there was only one other table of people in the restaurant so we didn't have high hopes from the start. My husband and I had the shrimp... More

This has been my favorite restaurant since I arrived in Philadelphia to go to school - Neghiste is wonderful and the quality of the food has never changed.

I went on a Saturday night with a group of six and no reservation, we got a table right away. The food was great, service was good and they accommodated the vegetarians among us very well. Entrees were about 11/person. It was well worth it!
