Top shelf Japanese

We both had the chef tasting Omakase and several cocktails. Omakase is about 9 courses. If selecting the chef tasting, I recommend that one order the Omakase $100 and the other have the Seasonal Omakase $150 so that you can have some variety for sharing. This is a Japanese restaurant so if you do... read more

The service was great, the soups and the sashimi are good but the sushi is not that good, first time in my life that I don't put soy sauce in the sushi because was extremely salty, I don't know if they put salt in the sushi rice, I didn't like it. Anyways we told the waiters so hopefully they will... More

This Iron Chef restaurant is a Pacific culinary adventure, right in Center City Philly, close to the Old City. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but you'll probably want someone else picking up the tab - the prices definitely match the quality!

The Chilean sea bass was melt in your mouth good! My friend had the noodle dish that is cooked table side and this was a cool experience to watch and he said the food was also great. The desserts were stunning to look at and excellent to taste. The one disappointment was the beer selection which was quite poor. In... More

We had been at Morimoto in New York so we wanted to go to the original Morimoto in the city of brotherly love. We would have loved to have the Omekase menu but we were under time constraints. We had an early seating so we won'the be late for a concert. Our waiter knew this do he made sure our... More

Reservations recommended. Modern decor in a relatively small restaurant. The food was awesome. Loved the soup served in tea pots. Loved the sushi of course and drinks were pretty tasty as well. I was surprised at the affordability of the restaurant; not cheap but didn't break the bank either.

I think Morimoto lives up to the hype. From the moment you walk in, you can tell that they've made an effort to distinguish themselves from other restaurants. The ambience is a little funky (neither very casual nor very formal) with unexpected lighting and colors and unusual seating for a high-end restaurant. The food at Morimoto was outstanding. Came in... More

I don't know Morimoto as a famous chef, but I knew that this place offered great Japanese dishes with quality products at not so expensive prices, so that's why I decided to try it when in Philly. The interior design is particular, so it definitely adds to the experience. The service is friendly and attentive. The omakase menus are definitely... More

Our family recently ate at Morimoto's as a special occasion. The food was incredible and the service was top notch. While the food is pretty expensive it was perfectly prepared and there is a wide variety of choices - types of sushi you can't get just anywhere. Love all the changing lights!

Valet parking, prompt reception and a beautiful restaurant to enter. We had a knowledgeable and attentive waiter and almost impeccable service. We started with the house Morimoto Martinis, sake and vodka, whilst debating what to have from the extensive menu. With the waiter's help we had a selection of excellent sushi, sashimi and tuna pizza before selecting our main courses.... More
