Handsome Dan and Josiah were the best bartenders in Philly. We came in town for a comedy show... the drinks at Red Owl Tavern were the best part of this trip. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Order the Catcher in the Rye.

We stopped in after visiting the Liberty Bell. Cheese Steaks Sandwiches were the meal of the day for us. It was served steaming hot with super tasty not greasy steak. Service was great. Reservations would avoid your waiting for a table.

I had an excellent meal tonight. The server was on top of her game and made the meal pleasant. We tried the cod dish and the ribeye. Both were excellent. The dessert was a chocolate custard which was delicious.

I enjoyed wonderful steak tartar when there. Obviously raw beef is gluten free! Chef Jorge Chicas is extremely talented, Like any good chef he should be able to accommodate dietary issues like yours.
