I happened on OPA while on a business trip to Philadelphia. I hesitated to go in because it seemed so dimly lit. But no matter. I was not disappointed by my visit. I ordered the chicken dish and it came to the table prepared perfectly with just the right amount of supporting vegetables. I also tried one of the local... More

The concept is greek tapas so of you are really hungry you should consider ordering at least 2 entrees. Their flavors and quality is outstanding. A little bit pricy like all restaurants in Philly downtown, you end up paying around $60 for two people including taxes. Add to this the tip.

I met my niece and nephew for drinks and food on a Wednesday night. It was not very crowded, maybe 50% of the seats at the bar and tables were taken. We ordered drinks and the fried calamari. As soon as we finished the calamari, we were told we had to get up and move to the bar if we... More

Excellent service, food is out of this world, our server Dan went the extra mile to offer his best. Great tapas concept combined with Greek Cuisine. It's worth every penny!

A wonderfully intimate dining space with center bar and apparently a beer garden in the back! Joined friends for an evening of celebratory small plates. We tasted: mussels (bathed in deadly pot liquor); French fries seasoned with oregano & other spices; lamb skewers. Two orders of the eggplant spread w/pita, which we all agreed was the freshest most deliriously creamy... More

This was a small plate dinner option. We tried six things between the two of us. One plate was better than the last. Very good! Can not complain about any thing. Definitely worth trying...

We had lunch at OPA and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the restaurant. The service was attentive, and the restaurant has a casual atmosphere. We started with the spreads that were served with piping hot pita bread. I chose to have the Mediterranean sampler which included half a sandwich, salad and an appetizer - what a value!!! I had the grilled... More

Looks like they ordered a dozen picnic tables, slapped a flat screen on the wall and installed a bar in a back alley loading area of a nice restaurant. A dozen+ of us went on a pub crawl. This was our second stop after McGillin's (which was fun). I'd consider the restaurant but not the "beer garden". They also have... More

Yesterday I got out of work at 3:00 PM to get a head start on Memorial Day weekend. My husband did not, and he plays softball on Fridays. What do I do??? Arrange mini pub-crawls by myself to explore the city (I commute in via train; I do not drive). Last night I found Opa!! It is now one of... More

I was in Philly for a conference and needed a place to eat. I was happy that the concierge of my hotel suggested Opa...finding it was pretty easy. Once I sat down, I ordered an appetizer (stuffed pitas), an item from the grill (octopus), as well as a dessert. Food came out pretty quickly and was cooked excellently. For example,... More

Description
Opa is a new Modern Greek restaurant and bar located in Center City's Midtown Village neighborhood. The menu features a fresh take on traditional Greek flavors. Featured items from the mezedes (small plates) include herbed keftedes (meatballs) in a ouzo-tomato sauce, octopus and spinach croquettes served with a smokey feta dip. Large plates offer a variety of items such as striped bass and pastitsio. The signature cocktail list and Greek wine selection offer the perfect complement to your meal. Acclaimed designer, Jun Aizaki/Creme, created an alluring setting which includes a striking birch branch canopy.

Walk-in seating is available at the 24 seat bar and offers the full menu.
