Needed a quick bite to eat and this was perfect. Second time here and if I lived local it would be a regular thing. ask for their Bloody Mary , it;'s really on point. the braised short rib tacos and baked beans with burnt ends...go well together. I'll be back, not in Arnie's voice please.More

We have been to this place for a business lunch. We took the customs burgers. The place looks nice and the service was ok. Burgers are good and the portion is huge.

Food was good and reasonably priced. Nice variety and a great children’s menu. Only problem was there was four of us (2 adults and 2 children). The children were served, then 10 minutes later my daughter was served. I waited an additional 15 minutes later...to get my food. So now my daughter food was cold. The meals should all come out at the same timeMore

We walked in & wanted to sit in the main dining room but the hostess said it was completely booked. The place was empty. They sat us in the back room. We waited & waited no one came. We went to the bar to get...a drink but the bartender disappeared. We questioned the hostess but he said they were changing shifts. Food came finally it was not good. We sent our ribs back the staff was so so rude.More

Arrived at 7:15PM on a Saturday. While it's a busy night for just about every restaurant, we were able to be seated without a reservation within 20 minutes. We placed our drink and food orders very shortly after being seated. That's when it went completely...downhill. Took over an hour to get the cocktails we ordered (all of them watered down). 30 minutes after the cocktails arrived we finally got 1 of the 2 plates of appetizers we ordered - strange, since we ordered 2 plates of the exact SAME appetizer which was recommended by our waitress. The 1st plate of cheesesteak eggrolls were tough and greasy. The 2nd plate (which arrived 15 minutes later) came out ok. Two hours of sitting there and we still had not received our meals - despite watching multiple parties that came in an hour or more after us immediately getting their drinks, appetizers and meals served quickly. The party of 2 seated next to us had arrived at the restaurant the same time we did - but because they had a reservation, they were seated 20 minutes earlier than we were. While they were able to get their drinks and their appetizer, their meals continued to be delayed so after 2 and a half hours of waiting for their dinners and hearing multiple excuses from the waitress who was blaming the delay on the kitchen despite her serving meals to other nearby tables that arrived much later than they did, they threw in the towel and gave up. They told us they had ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a grilled cheese. Seriously, 2 and a half hours to make a freaking grilled cheese???? Unacceptable. For our troubles, the waitress deducted the price of 1 cocktail. The barbeque was mediocre at best - I've had better ribs for half the price and served to me in less than 5 minutes over at the rib stand in Reading Terminal. Will never go back to Smokin' Betty's again.More

This was definitely one of the least satisfying restaurant experiences in our Philly visit! Both the food & service were poor, place was dirty and to make it worse the person cleaning up the tables was fighting with what appeared to be over served guests...at another table... May want to skip this one!More

Nothing seemed right when we were there last night. I understand it was cold last night but that is no reason to freeze those eating dinner. Even with the door closed, we could feel cold air blowing. The decor looks like it had no attention...in the last 5 years. Everything just seemed dirty - including some of the “clean” plates that came out. My wife’s fries were cold and the ribs under cooked. Staff was not attentive and couldn’t figure out to which tables orders were going. All in all, a bad night at Smokin Betty’s. Can’t see going back.More

Had a nice meal. The people who got BBQ loved it (and the fries too!) I wouldn't get the mahi tacos again but that's ok-I will try the BBQ. Our service started out strong and then faded but I am sure next time would be...perfect. I would recommend!More

Had matinee tickets to Hamilton at the Forrest and came here for a bite beforehand. Many interesting, well-priced items on the brunch menu. I was torn between Huevos Rancheros and Eggs Benedict. Choose the latter and was not disappointed. In fact, I was happily impressed,...being a slight food snob. The muffin was nicely crispy, yummy black forest ham, superbly poached eggs and the whole thing had a little siracha (sp?) kick. Nice surprise. And the side of home fries was ample and crispy. Highly recommend this place.More

I’ve eaten here twice, and was disappointed both times with my entrees. The first time I had a brisket sandwich, the brisket lack flavor and was not very good. The second time based on the recommendations of many I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, the...chicken had no flavor, the sauce was okay, the presentation was great, looked delicious but tasted blah. The chili tasted great, but wasn’t hot on my 2nd visit. I’d to coming here for a cup of chili, but nothing more.. rename the place to smokin chili.More
