The roast pork sandwich is easily one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I got mine with everything on it and then added some pickles and hot/"BBQ" sauce. Absolutely Delicious! The large will keep you full for the rest of the day for sure. Just wish they sold their sauce in bottles to take home to Chicago area.

I've had almost the whole lunch/dinner menu and you literally can't go wrong. Never lucky enough to try breakfast. When I buy the pork and sauce frozen from them, somehow it isn't' the same experience though. I keep expecting the place to go downhill but God willing it will never change, praying John's bone marrow transplant will continue to serve... More

Stopped at John's in South Philly for lunch. Tried their specialty Italian roast pork sandwich. It was GREAT! Just the right amount if tasty Italian seasoning on a hoagie. Good prices. Don't mind the industrial plant across the street, it's South Philly.

Had a sandwich and a drink for 12 bucks. The philly was good, but the pork was better. The bun was toasted and heavy with sesame seeds. The pork was juicy and flavorful. Good place to visit.

Serving roasted pork since 1930, they are obviously doing something right. It's not the location or the decor. Tucked by the railroad tracks in an industrial park near downtown. Step inside and order at the counter and watch as they construct your sandwich. Then sit outside on the wooden benches or take it to go. I had the large roast... More

After a local recommended this place we decided to visit it while doing business in Philly. First, place is super uncomfortable, small no inside seating, so had to seat outside under the heat which wasnt pleasant. Place is beat up and dirty, if thats what the locals like, well thats them. Second, service was terrible, guy was rude like he... More

Easier access/parking than the others. The roast pork is phenomenal, w' or without spinach. The cheese steaks are the best I've had in the city to date.

For the authentic cheesesteak experience, look no further than a mushroom steak with onions! Having said that, I was disappointed that they didn't offer cheese whiz as an option. Still, a delicious cheesesteak nonetheless. But now that I have completed my rounds eating at all of the famous steak shops (Jim's Tony Luke's, John's, Geno's, Pat's etc), I seriously can't... More

Took my family there recently. Purchased two roast pork/spinach/sharp provolone sandwiches for me and my wife and a meatball for my daughter. Everything was excellent and got to eat outside on the picnic tables on a beautiful summer day. Would choose this over DiNic's any day

Thank Chris E
