This was a meal that I received via a Groupon purchase. It offered a lot of variety in choices for prix fix menu. All of the foods are prepared and served by culinary students. They change their menu 4 times a year and we were...there for the autumn menu. Hours are very limited to Thurs and Friday eveningsMore

Outstanding four course meal. I was at Fork the night before and this was just as good if not better. It was fun to talk with the students and the teachers too and hear the behind the scenes stories. The cippiono was probably our favorite...but the apple salad, bean salad, blueberry salad, chicken and waffles, pork and fish were very very goodMore

I bought a certificate on Groups. It’s a good deal $60 for 4 persons. The night we went it was Mediterranean night. Several choices for the four courses including a vegetarian option. Chef Joe explained all the dishes to us. Everyone was happy with their...meals. We will return in November.More

I bought a Living Social Voucher for this dinner, and it was great! I plan to visit again. Each course was unique and tasty. The staff went out of their way to make us happy.

So happy to have learned of this culinary school! The food was tasty and the service was attentive. Were it not for the Groupon, I never would have known about it. If you go, and particularly if you use a Groupon, please remember to tip...well. My understanding is that all tips go to the schools scholarship fund. I'll be back!More

We went because we had a Groupon, because we probably never would have stumbled on it. This culinary school in on South Broad Street, just steps from the Broad Street subway. No parking lot, however around 5:00 there was available street parking. Later guests were...heard to mention that they had more of a problem finding street parking. This is an old movie theater that became a banquet hall that became a culinary school. You will find the marquee outside with the JNA name on it. You enter into what was once the theater lobby and the tables are set up in what was once the theater. Only negative is a slight old building smell. They cannot serve a many people, only a handful of tables are available and you do need to make a reservation. Our server, MIchael, was excellent. He kept an eye on our progress, never rushed us, and the next course came out in comfortable time. Speaking of comfortable, the chairs being iron patio typs chairs - not so comfortable. It is a prefixed menu - $30.00 per person, 4 courses. You have at least 4 choices in each of the four. This particular menu was themed to countries. 90% of our food was well-prepared, hot and delicious when it arrived at the table. The only minor issues - the barley served with the pork was bone dry and could not be eaten. The pork served with that dish - possible the best pork I have ever eaten. The one dessert came with a rose water syrup, but it was so heavy it tasted like eating perfume. I believe they change their menus throughout the seasons. It will be a place to return to, even without a Goupon.More

It was our first time: Warm welcome by Joseph and friendly/professional service by Amira would be already enough for good review, but excelent food made our visit very special and memorable. All day today I was telling my friends about such great overall experience. Definitely...will be coming back!!!More

This is a school for those that want to go into the food service business. They are supervised by experienced people. Very popular so make a reservation well in advance. The food is prepared to order and the menu changes. The only down side is...that the chairs need more padding. An exceptional meal at a reasonable price. Even better if you use Groupon and make your reservation on Open Table. It is also BYO.More

We have visited twice, originally via a Groupon, so the meal was really a bargain, but it was easily worth twice what we paid. We returned a few weeks ago for the Mediterranean price fixe menu. They were very accommodating of food allergies, and served...4 delicious courses. Service was perfect. The Moroccan carrot salad was typical of their offerings: nicely presented, absolutely fresh ingredients, spicy, crunchy and slighly sweet. It is BYOB so we were able to have our favorite wine.More

To each their own, but there's something very special to me about this restaurant, to which I have brought guests to well over 10 times. Something to do with the combination of fancy regional dishes, served and prepared by students under the close eye of...a chef supervisor, byob, easy parking in front and a price I can afford. Small number of tables, with very low decibel measures, in an older (maybe historic) hall just outside of Center City in South Philadelphia. Very special place, and although I'm not an upper-crust gourmet eater, I feel like it tastes as good as those fine-dining venues.More
