This steakhouse was so good! The waitstaff really knew their stuff from wines to steaks to side dishes their recommendations were fantastic. The hash browns were so tasty, I couldn't stop eating them. The calamari appetizer with roasted red peppers were a surprise but in a good way. We were on the fence and listened to the waitress. So happy... More

We had a wonderful dinner with ten guests. The wines, hor d'oeuvres, shrimp, crab and avocado salad, steaks, hash browns, mushrooms and chocolate cake were fabulous. Best dinner we had all week while in Philly!

If you're looking for a delicious piece of meat with an amazing ambiance, then Butcher and Singer is your place. We started with the fried calamari and maple syrup bacon appetizers. The calamari was the best we've ever tasted. As for the bacon, it's literally a thick cut piece of bacon flavored just perfectly. Next we enjoyed Blue Cheese Wedge... More

Ambience: good old days, think "Mad Men" Food: calamari(fresh), salad wedge( what you expect at this kind of steak house), porter house steak (banging), baked Alaska (yes definitely) Wait staff: very attentive. Special note: I had ordered a glass of wine. I did not like it. The waiter immediately offered to replace it. Not even a hesitation. Brought me another... More

My husband & I went here for lunch during restaurant week in Philly. Lunch was a set menu at $20 p/p which included starter, main meal, and dessert. We've been before for dinner two other occasions. Service and ambiance were great. The bar is small. We both got the salad, Bucher Burger, fries and a dessert. Everything was served hot... More

I walked into B&S and instantly thought i was in a steak house that must have been in Philadelphia for 50 years. However, they have only been in operation for 7 years. The music was just right, the lighting not too dark, but moody enough. The bar was nice and inviting. They specialize in Manhattans, and Side Cars, etc. i... More

We went out with another couple. The bacon is not the fat piece of bacon others serve, but not bad. The butternut squash soup was good. Everyone's steak came out perfect, other than mine. Probably sitting to long as I get it rare and others were in the medium to well range. They quickly brought out another steak and made... More

I have loved the other Steven Starr Restaurants I have visited (Buddakan and The Dandelion Pub) so I was looking forward to trying Butcher and Singer with it being Center City Restaurant Week. I knew it was going to be great the moment we walked in. The service was wonderful, the food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, and... More
