The atmosphere is incredible. Former bank building, you feel as though you have gone back in the 1940's. Dark woods, high ceilings, a true touch of class. My wife and I shared the porterhouse steak for two. We were impressed with the presentation and amount of food. Well worth the price for the entire evening. Wait staff was very knowledgeable... Went here with a large group of people. The food and service were great. It's expensive but can't complain about anything. It's a Special occasion kind of restaurant. The food is limited for vegetarians, but it's definitely a steakhouse. The sides were fantastic as were the appetizers.

Second time at Butcher and Singer separated by a few years. Great experience! Waiter was attentive but not annoying. Food was good. Steaks were tasty, a bit more well done than ordered but not a big miss. Hash brown and bacon were incredible. Great ambience.

Started out at the bar with the best Old Fashioned ever. Proceeded to a beautiful dining room and an exceptional dining experience. Excellent service, first. Comfortable table. Table bread and butter.....a feast. Snow Crab claws are delicious, perfectly prepared and served. My Delmonico was stunningly mouthwatering and cooked to perfection inside and out. Too full for dessert was the only... More

Being adverse to the concept of eating meat, but wishing to comply with my husband's desire for steak, I consented to eating at Butcher & Singer on a three day trip to Philly. As soon as I walked in to the building, I realized we had been there in another life. The waiter concurred that the restaurant had been something... More

We plan to come back the next time we visit. The look and style of the place is very pleasing. Staff is perfect and food was wonderful. Loved every minute of the visit. Very busy establishment. Food wait was moderate for a Friday night.

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner at Butcher & Singer. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Menu featured many traditional steakhouse dishes. The escargot, onion soup and wedge salad all were delicious. We had two perfectly prepared steaks for entrees (filet & NY strip). Where Butcher & Singer really excelled was customer service. There was a small problem with our check... More

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and we couldn't have had a better evening. First time visiting this restaurant and after our visit it will definitely not be our last. The service was top notch. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was quite good. As one would expect... More

This is one of the top places in Philadelphia. I've really enjoyed my time there. The food served was of a very high standard and I recommend this place enthusiastically.
