I took a friend here for a special occassion. They made him feel special and appreciated without embarrassing him. Not only did they greet him by name, but they printed him his own special menu with his name and a special birthday note on it....More

We suppose the threshold question is whether the concept of shipudim, salatim, hummus, and pita should be elevated from the accessible, heartwarming, filling, charcoal grilled and “homemade” social and comfort food status it has in Israel (and the Middle East) to a higher and more...More

It’s really difficult to get here (you have to book a table 2-3 months before!!!). Sonif you don’t book a table, go directly by 5 pm. In this case you will spend 1 hour during working days and around 2 hours on weekends. But believe...More

Pretentious in the extreme. Portions are small, overpriced and taste average. Waiters pretend to know the menu but cannot pronounce it and behave in a conceited manner. If you don't speak Hebrew, 'Garua' means terrible.

We’ve had some of our best dining experiences at Zahav. Great food - delicious, creative and fresh. Excellent service, too. They even printed special menus with my name on them for my birthday. The only problem with this place is that it’s so hard to...More

Great Mediterranean food. Hummus is a must try here. Everything is fresh and wonderful. Great Restaurant. Wonderful Executive Chef also. One of the best chefs in Philly! You can't go wrong. Make a reservation! This place is awesome!

Authentic hummus and Israeli dishes. Delicious, just a tad on the “too salty” side but could have been a one off.

Zahav is the place to go for a special meal. If you love Israeli/Mediterranean food or not sure if you love it yet, check out Zahav! The menu will push you out of your comfort zone, but the service will make you feel extremely comfortable....More
