Not only was the meal incredibly delicious, but you felt guilty because its presentation was like artwork. Its amazing to keep such high standards during a period like this...but it was fabulous and then some!

Location - a 5 min walk away from the village , very convenient Setting - very pleasant outdoor seating during covid times . Tables spaced far apart from each other . Service - attentive , pleasant , professional. The food - wow wow wow. The...best item I tasted was probably the mushroom crepe - I know it doesn’t sound too exciting , but the flavors were so amazing with that crepe. I had the special for main - venison , which was quite tasty . The meat was tender and cooked just right . The Panama cotta desert was light and yummy . One of my favorite foodie experiences in recent memory - a must try if one is in the mood for a very good meal. The food is a little pricy - but worth every penny for the qualityMore

We loved our meal here, with the staff doing quick work to revamp the restaurant for outdoor only dining with less than a day's notice. The choices here are not the usual "steak, cesaer salad, etc.") Try venison sausage or Canadian duck! Our waitperson was...as attentive as could be, and the ambience was creative, with lights strung about, making it quite romantic. Don't let the location fool you -- it's a bit off putting when you first look at the building. Great wine list. The food and service are first rate!More

Due to a detour driving up, we nearly missed our 5:15 reservation. So very happy we didn’t. The staff and the owner, so sorry I am so bad with names, happily greeted us upon arrival and promptly sat us in their new dinning room under...a canopy trees. There were 6 or so tables that were perfectly social distanced in the fresh air. The food, though not big portions, was Devine. We had the smoked trout, the mushroom crepes (so good, I want them for breakfast too), the salmon gravlex, and the potato corn soup just for starters. We would of licked the plates clean if it would of been acceptable. Oh, I forgot to mention the crusty bread and whipped butter which would be a carb lovers dream. The carnivores loved the steak which was perfectly cooked, and the scallops were a pescatarians delight. But all we truly needed was dessert. The chocolate was so decadent that I actually couldn’t finish it, and I tried desperately hard to. And there were rave reviews over the pana cotta and creme brûlée. It was so enjoyable. Thank you so much for an excellent meal and great service.More

Hello Chef Ian and Todd, Nick and I wanted to thank you for one of the best meals we’ve ever had in our life last night! We were absolutely blown away by everything from food to service to overall atmosphere. You have managed to create...the perfect upscale dining experience without an ounce of pretension. We felt right at home from the second we walked in. We were in love with every plate we had. The venison sausage on the corn pancake was the perfect balance of sweet and salty due to the delicious blueberries. The goat cheese on the salad was wonderful and creamy and went perfectly with the figs. I loved the duck crisped to perfection and wonderful crispy spätzle, and Nick enjoyed the variety of meats on the pork plate. The desserts were out of this world too, especially the cocoa merengue (I think that‘s what the round crispy chocolate cake was). The perfect amount of crisp! Todd was a delight to talk to, with everything from local tips to sports education, and great wine recommendations. His knowledge of the menu was superb. Thank you again for the hiking tips! Finally, we loved all the pictures and artifacts around the place, especially the old skis. We also wondered if the pictures in the bathroom were from the chef’s hometown, as there was a sign that was the same as his last name, I think. Thank you so much for the delicious food and hospitality, we will be back! Nick and EvaMore

We dined here while visiting Mammoth Lakes. I had read the reviews and decided it was worth a try. It was FANTASTIC! My wife had the soup of the day and it was great. I had deer heart as a starter and it was great....My wife had the salmon as an entree and is was excellent. I had the Venison steak and sausage and again it was excellent. We shared a nice bottle of Barbera d’ Alba - they have a nice wine list. We shared a dessert and again superb. Highly recommend this restaurant and it is easily walkable if your at the Westin.More

We have eaten at most of the flagship restaurants of celebrity chefs and Ian's slick but humble place needn't take a back seat to any of them! He and most reviewers call his menu "alpine" cuisine. But no this isn't fondue and lingonberry tartes; it...is some of the most sophisticated haute fusion you'll find anywhere. Pay the price and enjoy!!!!More

I never thought I’d find such an amazing restaurant in Mammoth, but I did and Skadi surpassed all my expectations! Located few minutes away from the Village, Skadi has a beautiful and fun interior decor. I love the old skis on the walls, the excellent...paintings and pics, and the old ski boots here and there. However, what makes Skadi great is the food and its staff. The menu is concise and smart. It’s inspired by European cuisines including Nordic and Swiss. I had the chance to talk to the chef/owner of the restaurant Jan, who is an avid skier himself and built the restaurant himself (Skadi is the name of a Nordic goddess of winter and skiing). He’s incredibly proud of his restaurant and passionate of his work. And that translates into the food. I started with the tomato soup, which was superb. The pan roasted crispy skin salmon with butternut squash and sage was very nicely cooked and incredibly delicious. The flavors were so good. Finally, the frozen caramelized macadamia nut and vanilla bean parfait made it the perfect ending. I definitely wanted to try out some of the other entrees like the scallops or the chicken breast. Hopefully, I’ll get to go again in the coming years. Service was impeccable and my waiter Bradley did a great job as well. I was fortunate to sit on the chef’s table and see Jan and his staff cook. Super professional and talented people. It’s a restaurant not to miss while you’re in Mammoth.More

We went to Skadi with friends for an early dinner. We were lucky to get a reservation for the same day. Just as you enter the restaurant - you feel a positive vibe. Everything was perfect: the staff - friendly, attentive, professional; the food -...every dish was superbly prepared and impeccably presented and served; the wine selection - is just great. I haven't been to a restaurant that good (not just in Mammoth, but anywhere) for quite some time now. This place is just superlative in every way. Thank you so much, Skadi! Keep up the great job! I will come back to Mammoth just to visit you.More

Another great dinner. A super wine list. But Let me tell you why this is the best restaurant in the area. It is because the chef who is the owner is that the number one station in the kitchen and finishes every meal He personally...selects and preps The salmon The steaks etc. it is fun to sit at the counter and watch him repair of the meals. This is a serious restaurant that serves what I might say adult meals. We return year after year.More
