It's strange writing a negative review when there are so many positive reviews, but I feel that, being a big fan of Chinese cuisine, other foodies deserve to be warned: this ain't Chinatown in LA, SF, NY, or even OC. In fact after we left, we asked ourselves, what were we thinking going to a Chinese restaurant in Mammoth? Let... More

Not your average Chinese restaurant; a cut above. Good sized portions of fresh, well seasoned ingredients. Very good service. Only cons were egg rolls were fried too long, sake was brought cold not hot as requested.

We found this nice Restaurant just around the Corner from our Hotel Shilo Inn and have been positively surprised. Nice Decoration and calm atmosphere. Also the Menu is not too big there is a plate for everyone. After a Starter ( traditional Egg/Springroll also for Vegetarians available) for 15$ we had two different beef dishes including rice. Fantastic Taste and... More

We ate here late about 8pm but the food was fantastic. I had the kung pao chicken and my gf had sweet and sour chicken. Portions were big so we didn't have starters. Staff were very chatty and friendly and it was great to relax in a nice restaurant with great food and a beer after spending the day in... More

We were in the mood for Chinese and a quick online search led us here. We weren't expecting much for a Chinese restaurant that isn't in the heart of an Asian community, but were pleasantly surprised. Ordered for takeout Beef & Broccoli, Orange Chicken, Lo Mein and Sweet & Sour Shrimp. We thought each dish was a little on the... More

Decided to go here after we were unimpressed with another restaurant the resort owned nearby. Cool authentic Chinese decor, a little hot in the summer since the dining room is located downstairs but if you're there in the winter it won't be an issue. Service was excellent, Chris our waiter was exceptional. Had a good dining experience. Orange chicken was... More

Came here on the recommendation of the hotel where we were staying. The deco was great, the staff were attentive but not gushing, they looked after us well. The food was good, not amazing but a nice meal. This would be a good restaurant for groups of friends as it's big. There were a few groups here while we were... More

Rich, the chef, is always introducing new menu items, and the regular items are consistently great. His new crispy fish entree amazing.

I have only one complaint with Red Lantern: the food. The restaurant is beautifully designed, the table settings are charming, the wait staff is attentive. The only problem is that the food pretends to be Chinese but is not. The Chicken with Cashews had all the ingredients as chicken fajitas plus cashews; every ingredient was burned, the way things can... More
