Went last weekend for the first time. What a great experience. Drinks were for real, great recipes. Band was awesome. Felt like what would be the 40's to 50's era. Definitely going again.

Went with another couple for dinner on a Tuesday night. Really cool atmosphere but super dark. You need a flashlight to read menu. Drink assortment very creative but they are served in old drinkware, so the quantity is less than other places. Drink prices not listed, but are approx. $12-$15. I don't recommend eating there except maybe appetizers. Our clams... More

This was the second visit. My wife suggested that we both needed a special evening because we had a tough week and it was time to wind down. I'll never forget the phone call from her; she had seen a Groupon offer and when she visited the web site the menu looked new and exciting. She loves Salmon and it... More

My fiancée and I heard about this place from a friend. We stopped by for a couple of drinks this weekend and had an amazing time!! We both love the Jazz era and specialty cocktails, so it was a no- brainer. Upon entering the dim candle light foyer, the mood was set from the moment you step inside. We sat... More

My spouse and I dined at the Bookstore Speakeasy for an early dinner on a Saturday evening in mid-May 2016. The Bookstore is open for dinner, drinks, and (sometimes) live Jazz on Tuesdays through Saturdays. You must call the restaurant to make a reservation; they do not participate in any online booking programs. We highly advise making a reservation; the... More

Probably a very "cool" place for the younger generation. Very dark, loud and not a very varied menu. The service was, however, excellent and waiter was super pleasant and attentive. Food was prepared well and drinks were good. Just found the whole atmosphere TOO dark and depressing. Glad I didn't live in the prohabition era!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The bar staff is top notch! The drinks are delicious and well balanced. We sat at the bar-beautiful copper top, and had drinks and appetizers, which were certainly enough for a meal. We will return! The staff was very helpful in assisting us with our choices and so many drinks to choose from makes it... More

First time at the Speakeasy. Very cool environment and the menu is presented in books with the rules of the restaurant. Extensive drink options and not a bad menu. However, when we found a large clamshell in the mashed potatoes that didn't leave a good feel. And then when we received the bill and each drink was $12 that was... More

Stopped in for a few drinks last night. I absolutely loved the concept and the atmosphere. The clearly specialize in mixed drinks and cocktails, and the will gladly tell you as much. The pretentious/hipster vibe is through the roof. And, It really doesn't have to be that way. My date ordered some sort of mixed drink, she seemed to like... More
