Second visit here. I have nothing but good to say about The Lobster Pound. We had lobster rolls which were excellent as at previous visit. This time we also bought fresh clams, scallops, and a crab cake for New Years meal. Everything was extremely fresh,...and our meal with this seafood was perhaps my best ever. It was again worth the 90 mile roundtrip!More

Lobster Roll = Yummy I’ve lived in Lakewood Ranch for years and always wanted to try this locally owned spot. Wow! I stopped by last week and picked up a New England style lobster roll. Simply delicious! The toasted bun was just the right thickness...not...too much bread. BIG chunks of lobster meat. Not crazy about the hush puppies. The service was great. Quick and friendly. I’ll definitely stop by again.More

We drove 90 miles roundtrip today for our first visit, we were not disappointed! We were the first customers of the day, 11AM, and were warmly greeted by I assume the owner and another employee. We both had Connecticut style lobster rolls prepared on the...spot. The food was excellent, fresh, very tasty, and plentiful. I've had lobster at restaurants before with less meat than our rolls contained. We ate our food on the covered front porch, and greatly enjoyed our meal. They have many seafood choices to eat out front, carry out, and a regular market to take home. If you are riding the fence about visiting, get off your bike and have some great food with friendly service.More

My wife and I stopped here for lobster and tried several things. Everything was pretty good, but the CLAM CHOWDER was probably the best I've ever had including Maine and Maryland and everywhere else that claims theirs is the best and is often really good....I wish I would have tried the lobster roll, but really I think I'd just order a huge bunch of soup with bread and crackers and be totally happy.More

Arrival not what we were expecting. This is not a restaurant but an amazing deli type fish market with amazing food. We have been to restaurants that are considered best seafood places, none any better than here. All 4 of us had something different and...everyone was more than pleased with their choice. I was special since I mentioned I am on a low (no) salt diet. James suggested swordfish with lemon and pepper on a bun with no butter. Thank you James that was beyond my expectation. Don’t pass this place go in you will be happy you didMore

First of all they make you feel so welcome and I can see alot of return customers!!!! Lobster rolls delicious and their clam chowder is just clams and a succulent creamy light veloptuos (shuold I go on???) concoction. Been there already 3 times and will...be back at least once a week. Gotta try more stuff!!! Also they have a fresh seafood market so you can order and bring it home. Owner and staff super friendly and greet you warmly. Can't wait to go back. Check out their daily lunch specials.More

We stopped by on a Tuesday for their lobster roll special. It was our first time there and OMG!!!!! What GREAT food. We tried both the New England (cold lobster and mayo) and the Connecticut (warm lobster and butter). It's a good thing we ate...outside... we could moan without disturbing anyone. The hushpuppies on the side were also terrific. And they gave us samples of their lobster bisque and clam chowder... I know we'll be ordering them in future visits. And as if wonderful food wasn't enough, we met the owners Kelly and Jim who were positively the perfect hosts. Thank you two... we hope to see you often.More

Grouper tacos were so fresh, terrific! Lobster roll was very good as well. We had the mayo version. They also serve it with butter and lemon juice. Waitress was super nice and even recommended a neighboring restaurant for our kids who don’t eat seafood. They...also serve beer. Lots of fresh fish they will cook for you for a 5$ charge. Despite lots of fresh fish on display, there is no fishy smell. This is fresh seafood, excellent!More

The restaurant has some seating - it's not huge by any means, but this is an awesome place to pick up lunch or dinner and impress your guests! Huge chunks of fresh lobster - you choose buttered or mayo. And you can buy the pieces...seperately and put them together easily right before serving!More
