We were travelling through Bradenton and were looking for a Mexican Restaurant on our Google app. We found ourself close to Mr. Tequila and decided to give it a try. It was an off time, around 2 PM, so we were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and competent. My wife ordered the Special Nachos with shredded chicken which she pronounced very good, but lacking jalapeno peppers. We were provided a small dish of them, but found an extra 99 cents on the bill for them. I had the Burrito Grande with shredded beef. It was very large but a bit bland, although the sauce it was served with was very good. All in all, we enjoyed our visit and would not hesitate to visit again.

We both had two different burritos and the chips and salsa. The salsa was perfect, the chips very good not sure if homemade or purchased. The burritos contained a lot meat and well maid. Had to take home 1/2 of each one as they were huge. Flavors were good and service was very good.

Margarita was very orange as more than half the glass was orange juice (No bueno). Chips and salsa ok, guacamole was delish. Now the meals. Portions were very large. Carne Asada was lacking spice and was chewy. The enchilada meal 2 chicken, 2 steak was served cold from inside out. Asked waitress to put in microwave instead they made me a new plate. By the time I got it I was full from the rice and beans but did taste both. The enchilada sauce had so much lime juice in it that it was barely edible. Chicken was grilled and had good taste, steak was chewy. Will we go back again? Probably not.

So, we were in town and I wanted to take my husband to a good Mexican restaurant. I picked Mr. Tequila, I have been there before and was ready to enjoy a good restaurant.
We ordered cheese queso fundido. It was supposed to have pico de Gallo ( so the menu said ). We get it and all that is in it is cheese and meat. My husband called the waiter over, the waiter that it only comes with meat in it. “No”, we said and showed him the menu. He said that there was a misprint on the menu but he would bring a dish of pico for us ( great ).
Then the waiter took our order. My husband ordered a fried chimichanga. Food was brought, looked good but as my husband started eating he realized that the chimichanga was not fried at all. When the waiter came past my husband politely told the food was great but it wasn’t fried as he requested . The waiter apologized but made no attempt to correct the problem.
My husband decided not to cause fuss so he just continued eating his plate. Toward the very end of his meal he felt something plastic in his mouth. Pulled it out and found it to be a plastic tie.
When we finally called the waiter over to the table all he could do was apologize.
Well ,we waited for the bill, thinking that at the very least he would get his meal taken care of by the manager. Not manager came. Soon the waiter came with our bill. My husband looked at it and asked the waiter if he had talked to the manager about the plastic and the waiter replied yes but he was told to go ahead and charge us for the meal.
My husband went to the manager who basically called my husband a liar, told him there was not way the plastic could have been in the food and that he would take only $3.00 off his meal.
My husband was told to calm down . We spent $72
For our meal and drinks. To be called a liar is an insult, we were not looking for the whole dinner to be comped but when an Entree has foreign matter in it, the right thing to do is to at least is not to charge the customer for it.
I would not recommend this place to ANYONE
If you decide to chance it and go, look at every bite you take!!

I was there for lunch yesterday and the first thing I saw was the salsa for the chips being put in a styrofoam container. What? They can't wash a small bowl? I ordered the steak taco dinner and something was definitely off with the flavor of the meat and I did not care for it. They were also a bit skimpy with the rice. Instead of setting out silverware and a napkin they were both in a plastic wrap and the napkin was quite cheesy, like the absolute worst quality. Since my waitress never came back during the meal I did not have the opportunity to get another napkin. I won't be going back - ever.

Due to COVID-19, we have been actively keeping up to date with new health regulations in the restaurant industry which means we have had to modify aspects in our everyday dining operations in order to provide a safe experience and fulfill community health guidelines. Mr Tequila Grill was a pleasant surprise. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. The portion sizes were generous so we had plenty to take home. The food was tasty, the vegetables were fresh and the dishes were served immediately after being prepared.
The restaurant was full and the only thing we had to wait for was our bill.

We ordered from Mr. Tequila for carryout one night during our stay in Bradenton. We viewed their menu online and called in our order. Everything was still warm by the time we got it home, and all three of us enjoyed our food. We had nachos, a burrito and cheese enchiladas with large side of rice and beans. We would order again.

Me and my boyfriend came in to eat he order a cheese quesadilla and a chicken and cheese quesadilla. He asked for the chicken to be grilled and not shredded. I got a cheese quesadilla and rice. Food came out, and he got shredded chicken on his quesadilla which he specifically asked for grilled. No big deal. Rice never did come out till 10 minutes later. Boyfriend found a piece of hair before he even took a bite of his other cheese quesadilla and told the manager because the waitress wasn’t coming back. Manager proceeded to come to out table and argue that that piece of hair wasn’t any of his cooks or staff and that it was ours. I work in a restaurant and I totally get stuff happens but to argue with the guest and turn it around on them??? Not appropriate. Do better. Also read a few other reviews saying that they ALSO argued with the manager. Very disappointing. He even told us he was “trying to make this right so I don’t get a bad review”. Lol okay buddy.

Yes, still serving up great Mexican food. Atmosphere cosy, but plenty of buzz. Service was great too. Tried (new to me anyway) crab, shrimp and fish fajitas, absolutely delicious. Great 2for1 beer deals and the frozen margaritas (one traditional, one raspberry) went down a treat with the ladies. Terrific night out.

Salsa, chips and cheese dip and guacamole were very good. Sweet tea was perfect and staff were pleasant. The entrees were not good. The meat was fryed to fray. The beans smelled and tasted bad.

This place is awful we had to beg for drink refills food was all wrong didn't get anything we ordered right. We were there with our special needs daughter for her birthday. She was even wearing a hat that said happy birthday. They sang happy birthday to other tables not us. They couldn't even take time to clear table so we could talk. This was the worest restaurant I've been to in a long time even the food was bland. Beware of this place.

We had great service, great atmosphere with actual mariachi singing at your table if you want to. The food, the guacamole, the salsa and chips, the margaritas and the food was excellent. And to top it very attentive service. Go don’t listen to the haters it’s really good. I wish I took the servers name he was great.

I was a little disappointed in the food here. We sat at the bar. Great service. I had shredded beef enchiladas Rojas. Dh had steak fajitas. Everything was ok nothing special. The salsa for the chips and salsa was terrible. Very watery. I bet you can find a much better Mexican restaurant in the area.
