NICE NEIGHBORHOOD TAVERN

My coworkers and I have become impeccable "Friday Female Foodies," as we've checked out our 5th neighborhood restaurant, some familiar, some new to us. Slyder's Tavern was new to most of us, but none of us have become "regulars." However, after our visit, we just might. We enjoyed the chicken wrap, fish sandwich and a very good hamburger. We had ample portions, along with chips and pickles. This place is hopping even at lunchtime on Friday. We've opted to partake again, as we enjoy supporting local fare during this pandemic. All precautions were observed, and the staff was attentive. I highly recommend this place!

Best fried walleye ever

The walleye is available only on Fridays and is not on the menu! Comes with slaw and either Mac and cheese or fries. The Mac and cheese tends to run out by end of lunch. Get there early! Servings are huge. Priced under $10.

Great friendly staff

Great friendly staff make this place a real find even if you’re not from Dayton. You can tell that this is a friendly place because the wait staff are friendly and treat you very very very well. Just a fun place to come and enjoy good hospitality.

Busy and not welcoming

So many people have always told me that I have to get a burger there so I stopped by myself to check it out. The guy there wasn't friendly and said they didn't have enough space to waste time on one person unless I wanted to drink a bunch of beer and I said nope I'm just here for lunch and he said then I can't put you on the wait list for just one person so I left and got lunch elsewhere. If they won't take my business when I'm alone then I will never go there with anybody else.

Average burger, less stellar environment

2nd time here, and nothing has changed. It's a very overrated place with a big, AVERAGE burger that taste just like it would if you or your mother fried it in a skillet at home. I guess some people are just astonished that it's a little bigger than the bun and ignore quality or especially taste. It's ain't Five Guys, Smashburger, E.O., or even Bunkers or Red Robin.

Awesome lunch in safe environment

Awesome walleye, Cole slaw, with Mac and cheese. Large servings too. Friendly service and good selection of local craft beers on tap. Staff and environment compliant with current masking and distancing guidelines—of which I’m generally critical, but this was great and indulgent experience.

Awesome little joint!

Excellent! Brad and Jason were working very hard to keep everything sanitary between guests. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The cheeseburger did not disappoint! Overall seems to be a great place for a good bite 😁

If the locals hang out there, you know it's likely to be good

Birthday weekend with my grandfather. You could tell this place would be good as it was slammed with locals. Patty melt and onion rings were excellent. Trip Advisor should allow for half stars (4.5).

Beware where you park

It didn't use to be this way, but if you park on east side of building the company next store will have your car towed off. It is not signed very well on this. The people working at Slyders are not nice when they tell you this, as if everybody is a regular and knows this. They forget occasional customers are NEEDED to stay in business also. Other than the new parking problems, the food is still good. Good place, Good Music, just know east side of building is now a tow away zone, it wasn't for many years.

What an Amazing experience!! The staff were superb!! Brad suggested the Giuseppe burger special. OMG it was Fantastic. Beer was cold. Prices were cheap. We’re from Ky. but my next time close to here I will be back!! Yes it’s a bar but you will Love it!!! Thanks Brad & the rest of the staff!!!!

Best kept secret on a super hamburger in Dayton Ohio

This little bar in the Belmont district of Dayton Ohio has hands down the very best hamburger in Dayton Ohio voted number one by that hamburger club of the United States, but a number one by every person who ever has taken a bite of it this hamburger deserves historic status.

One of The Best Burgers in Dayton

When walking in you just New it was going to be god. At the bar area it looked like everyone was a local and showed up everyday. With a large selection of beer that is where I started followed by one of the best bacon cheeseburgers that I have Weber had!! The onion rings also were cooked to perfection.

Used to be great

I really loved this place and we went there at least every month. The last 6 times we have been in in 2018 & 2019 have been disappointing to the point that I don't expect to be back. The worst example was when we waited over an hour to get a table, then waited over an hour to get food, and then food was cold. I asked the manager / owner what was going on. He said the kitchen was really busy and said he was sorry. I just dont understand how being busy makes food slow and cold. If it is slow, it seems that it should at least be fresh when they finally get to it.
