Brophy's--same family as the one in Santa Barbara--is the real deal. What could have been a tourist trap is actually a great restaurant with consistently good food and a great view of the boats and the harbor. Best clam chowder anywhere--and I've tried many. Other favorites are mussels, Cioppino (cooked right in front of you if you sit at the... More

We just stopped by for lunch here, expect to wait here before you get your table. The outside place overlooking the harbor is worth trying. Quick service with amazing options to choose from their sea food. Go for this :) Cheers!

Unfortunately, this place does not take reservations during the weekend unless you have a very large party so getting there early makes a huge difference. We were going to the 8pm comedy next door and so we got to Brophys at 5:45 in case there was a big line. Got lucky. We were seated right away. Waited for our friends... More

Very good fish with spectacular views of Ventura Harbor, especially at sunset. Happy hour specials at the bar. Very good service and drinks make Brophy Bros. Restaurant a great neighborhood place to end the day with friends.

On a whim we stopped by for lunch. The wait was about an hour for the patio but once we got our table it was well worth it. We opted fot the hot seafood platter to start along with the clam chowder. Both were excellent in taste. I went with the standard fish and chips while my wife ordered the... More

Original in Santa Barbara. For Ventura, this is upscale. I prefer Lure, but Brophy does have the view over the yacht basin, such as it is. Reasonable food, but real fish and chips at Andrea's next door. For oysters, go to Lure at Happy Hour. By the way, I detest kids in restaurants who are not well behaved. I witnessed... More

Asked where the locals go. Waited to be seated (party of one) for a few hours (before sunset until I could map he stars in the sky)?! Once sat, ordered a dozen clams. What was served... the meat of a dozen clams would not have fit in s thimble. Am I crazy, or are they?! I feel like I've wasted... More

Brophy's is always a good place to chose when you can't think of a place to go for dinner. It's great atmosphere and you can walk off your meal after around the breakwater. It's almost as good as the original in Santa Barbara.....

My family and I went to visit our friends in Oxnard and we decided to go here for dinner. They have a lot to choose from on their menu. Great comfort foods and also some good main entrees. My wife had the seared ahi tuna and the sauce that came with it made the dish taste so good. I had... More

Description
We are a casual seafood house that is located right on the dock in the Ventura & Santa Barbara Harbor. You'll find a bustling scene of fisherman, young professionals and sand-sprinkled beach-goers nearly every night of the week at these true-blue waterfront institution. Dungeness crab cocktail, oysters on the half-shell and fried shrimp round out the "small" menu offerings. Fresh fish specials, such as grilled white sea bass from local waters, mahi mahi dusted in Cajun spices and pan-blackened local yellowtail, are highlights on the "long" menu. No matter what, libations are always in order at this locals' favorite gathering place. Everyone is welcome at Brophy's, hope to see you soon.
