We make a trip to Brophy Bros. about once a month. The harbor area is great for exploring while you wait for a table. The food is great--sea bass is my favorite--just a tad spicy. Fun place for kids too since you can sit on the outer deck and see the boats in the harbor. Ice cream after dinner just... More

Food and drinks always excellent. I come here to chill. If you love seafood, this is the place. Love the oysters here, the oysters rockefeller, and the garlic baked claims. Fried scallops yummy too. They fill your wine glass to the top. Their signature drink is a bloody mary. Always - can't wait 'til my next stop there!

We have been going to Brophy Bros. for several years during our annual trip to Ventura. We enjoy the peel and eat shrimp and fish and chips. The fish was moist, with excellent breading. Tasty Margarita and I got to try a popular local draft beer. Madison, the bartender, was both efficient and personable. You have to sit at the... More

This is a nice spot with a nice view where you can easily spend a lazy part of the afternoon. Good seafood is served here but service does need to improve quite a bit. Efficiency is not paramount there. Just be aware.

But food only fair. Dry, small portion of fish and chips. Overly battered. Tasteless coleslaw. Best for the harbor view and a passable, but bot thrilling lunch.

My first visit to the Ventura Harbor location and it was a nice surprise. Fortunate enough to have a table on the patio, in the corner overlooking the harbor. Great view. Not an extensive menu, but enough options to choose from. The baked clams were excellent. Something good to share. The blackened swordfish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Portion sizes... More

I've been going to Brophy Bros. for years! Everytime I'm in town, it is a must. I always do a Bloody Mary and either the Hot or Cold combo. The chowder is the best around and the shrimp and crab salad is my favorite! You will likely have to wait if you want to sit on the patio, the cups... More

toughest rating...struggled between 3 and 4 rounding up...damn these 1/2 stars that arent allowed on yelp. Best item is clam chowder by faaaarrrr. Thick, hearty, extremely flavorful, exactly the way a chowda should be. The pan blackened seas bass I had...can live with or without. The hot item combo...with shrimp, clams, mussels (ridiculously tiny) and baked oysters was good as... More

Food was good and nice selection of wine. Surprised to see they serve Cuvaison Chardonnay. One of my favorites. Just wished it would have been cold. Maybe next time. We looked at the Happy Hour menu and it looks like they have a good Happy Hour. So planning to go for Happy Hour next. I had the wild salmon and... More

Description
We are a casual seafood house that is located right on the dock in the Ventura & Santa Barbara Harbor. You'll find a bustling scene of fisherman, young professionals and sand-sprinkled beach-goers nearly every night of the week at these true-blue waterfront institution. Dungeness crab cocktail, oysters on the half-shell and fried shrimp round out the "small" menu offerings. Fresh fish specials, such as grilled white sea bass from local waters, mahi mahi dusted in Cajun spices and pan-blackened local yellowtail, are highlights on the "long" menu. No matter what, libations are always in order at this locals' favorite gathering place. Everyone is welcome at Brophy's, hope to see you soon.
