We came for early Saturday dinner, “lured” by high-rated reviews and the promise of a tasty fresh fish. Easy parking at the free public garage practically next door. Even at 3:30 pm this cavernous restaurant was packed and hopping. From our table at a corner...of the oyster bar we had a good view of the busy shucking behind the counter. The rich currant flavor #10?Spain cab was superb. My 1/2 dozen oysters were fresh and tasty, an ephemeral joy! Chowder was savory, as expected. Kudos to the chefs for seasoning and cooking the fish perfectly on a busy night: our fish & chips and grilled rockfish were immensely flavorful and delicious! The sides of sweet potato fries and spinach and pineapple enriched coleslaw all garnered best supporting actor awards. Eddy, our friendly, hardworking server, took good care of us. We have eaten seafood at the Westlake, Camarillo and Ventura locations. The clam chowder is some of the best we have ever eaten. Of course, the halibut, rockfish and other seafood is also fantastic. We like the ambiance at all locations but especially the Westlake...location.More

Had a 30 minute wait after 6pm on a Saturday. Once seated we ordered quickly. Definitely enjoyed our meal. Music in the background was energetic.

We were first time, first dinner in Ventura and were absolutely delighted with our dinner at Lure. First starting with the wine, the pours were quite generous. Then began our food taste buds explosion! We ordered the Ahi Tuna accompanied by spinach and lime cilantro...rice and the freshly caught sea bass with a side of this incredible potato concoction and another veggie. Good oysters , sour dough bread & butter, and white wine. I enjoy their cold appetizers, and simple grilled seafood options.

Everyone loved their food. Fish is fresh, charbroiled oysters to die for. I had 6 oysters,artichoke with the amazing aioli,a whole main lobster,and pop rock shrimp.

Our dinner at Lure was wonderful. Everyone loved their food…we all had the cod: two had the Ling Cod and one the fried. One cod was blackened, the other was pan fried with panko, lemon sauce and capers. Eddie at the Ventura location was the...best server we ever had. His smile and attitude were contagious. I expect he will do great things with the amazing attitude and joy he spreads. My sister’s husband also forgot his credit card and Eddie ran quite far to find us in the midst of a halloween street celebration. We were as impressed with Eddie as we were with the food! We had dinner on a Thursday night at Lure. It is a very popular and busy place, even with us arriving before 6pm. Their hosting process was very efficient and because we were fine outside, we were seated within 10 minutes. Service was good. Server...recommended the Dabs and they were a home run, right out of the park. Delicious and unique dish that we had never seen offered before. We'd order them again. Also had the Cioppino and for my taste buds, way too spicy. But the server said it is spicy when hubby ordered and he loved it. So also a home run for him. The Key Lime Pie was also very good. Excellent graham cracker crust and the most tart of filling. Only miss was our Miso Glazed Sea Bass starter. It just lacked flavor and was bland. Since the other foods were great, we expect it was just an off night for that one dish.More

Lure has great Happy hour food and drinks. Happy hour was discontinued last year, but now it is back with new offering. Delicious as always. The tropical mango ceviche, crab cakes and watermelon mojitos are to die for.

This was recommended to us by a local resident. We ate in the early afternoon and were not disappointed. We shared two dishes: haddock and sand dabs We chose the latter as the server recommended it as a local delicacy. He was right. Service was...quick and professional, the food was excellent.More
