Marie Shannon's is the go-to bakery in Ventura. The owner has a wonderful way with just about anything she bakes. I love the option of having a cake baked organic or gluten free or both. The coffee is the bomb. The baked goods are varied and wonderful. Don't miss this little gem on Chestnut Street in Ventura.

Stopped in for desserts and was not disappointed! Adorable little dessert/coffee shop that won’t disappoint. The macaroons are huge and fabulous! The Peanut Butter bar was to die for!!

Draft coffee is amazing! I go here only for their Caribbean Coffee Company Draft Coffee. Yes on tap! I stop here occasionally as it is very close to my office. I can only speak for this draft coffee but it is very good and something different then any drip coffee or coffee beverages. The staff is hit and miss. A... More

I'm from Seattle, so the last place I want to have coffee is at a Starbucks. I found Marie Shannon's by chance and gave it a try. All I had was coffee, so I can't comment on the food, but if it's anything like the coffee, it would likely be good as well. The coffee was just how I like... More

This little place is really nice for a cake to order or to get a little snack after eating at one of the local dining places. They are not always consistent though which is frustrating. I love their lemon meringue tarts and sometimes they have them and sometimes they don't. So, when you for your little snack, make sure you... More

It's was fine. Did it rock my world? No. Service was ok - not welcoming or particularly friendly - maybe functional is a good word. Display cabinet with cookies, and cakes was attractive. The 'help yourself to water table' provided plastic cups instead of glasses (as if there's not enough plastic rubbish already). Coffee was good. So were the empanadas.... More

This is a great stop if you're looking for coffee and tasty bakery goods. I enjoyed a double espresso and a pecan bar. It was exceptional.

Went here for a special event and paid $25 for a salad and a drink. It was a skimpy salad. The Chechen breast was fine but everyone complained about the lack of Gorgonzola cheese. They even served it on a mid sized plate. Others had pot pie which was just plopped on the plate and French dips, both served without... More

Great cookies. Super empanadas. Awesome flour less cake. Great muffins. They do a nice breakfast in the morning. Coffee is good. Best bakery in town. Not bread but sweets.

Near the Main Street Ventura. I visited for breakfast before heading out of town. Shop was not incredibly busy. Staff was attentive and friendly as I reviewed over the bakery case and menu. I elected for an empanada which asked if I wanted heated up and some ultimate cookies. Staff was prompt to getting the empanada warmed and cookies pulled... More
