My first time at Limon y Sal and it won’t be my last. We came with 5 people (3 had been there before) and we couldn’t be happier with the attentive service and food quality. We can recommend the Chicken Fajitas, Shrimp Diablo Tacos, Tortilla...Soup and Chicken Burrito w/Mole...All delicious & ample portions. This Restaurant is fun, loud and a good time ! Pick a different Restaurant if you’re looking for a quiet, intimate experience.More

Stopped by for a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The patio was not busy, and I was seated and greeted quickly. The menu was a little confusing at first glance. The complementary chips and salsa were fresh, though the salsa was completely mild. Ordered...grilled mahi mahi fish tacos, did not wait more than 7-10 for my food, and got fried fish tacos. They were fresh and tasty despite the order mix up. Only got 2 tacos for $14 though. The waitstaff, for my table and all the tables around me, were cheerful, attentive, and not intrusive. Not a bad lunch spot.More

We went to have lunch at Limon y Sal expecting delicious food based on reviews. Both of us had the Steak Chilaquiles. What we got was nothing but chips smothered in a green salsa with a few pieces of steak. I do not know where...in Mexico they got their recipe but it is certainly not the way to make chilaquiles. Chilaquiles are made mixed with eggs using cut up tortillas that are fried . But they are NOT crispy chips. It was a nasty dish, so we ate the steak (which was tasty) and left the rest. An indication of a poor wait staff is when they ignore the fact that we left our entire plates on the table, and just came to pick them up without a word. It was a big waste of money.More

Never disappointed. Outstanding menu with many interesting choices. Not your chain restaurant type of mediocre. This food is exceptional and memorable.

There was a large group of us, six adults and four children, so it was going to be an experience. Fortunately, the experience was great. First, the interior was large and beautiful, located in an historic Spanish-style building with beautiful mosaic tile work. Second, the...service was excellent, and the children were able to enjoy affordable childen's selections. Most of the adults ordered some type of mole dish and a huge margarita. I had beer and the usual fish taco. Overall, it was wonderful to be able to accommodate so many family members, some of whom had traveled from Europe. They all loved the margaritas! Finally, I would definitely go back. I really want to try the happy hour in the cantina.More

Great steak fajitas! Meat was one of the few restaurants that has "melt in your mouth" tender. The menu is extensive. They offer happy hour in the bar area. However, the noise level, service and margaritas have a lot to be desired. I waited 10...min, once my food was served for eating utensils. We had to flag our server down to get the check, even though it wasn't that busy. We watched as several of the servers were laughing with one another, in the side room. The noise level is very high. Not the place for a quiet romantic dinner. A little about the margaritas, which should be the show stopper! Not here. They offer a variety of margaritas on the rocks. I like a strawberry or some other fresh fruit margarita, blended (while they advertise they have a blender, they don't, all of their margaritas are on the rocks). I'm amazed at how many Mexican restaurants don't have a blender, anymore. I tried a couple of what our server told us were the popular margaritas and didn't like either of them. I also enjoy several fresh fruit martinis from other places that are delicious, but the one I tried here was not that good.. I sent it back. I miss the Watermark for entertainment and dancing. Loved it...it was "the place" to go for dancing. I didn't have a chance to check out upstairs to see how they renovated it. It took too long to get our check. If you have a lot of time for dinner and don't mind the noise or the service....I'd recommend the fajitas, other then that, I can't see a reason to go back. Btw, my favorite food is Mexican, so I really wanted to like this restaurant! Great Mexican restaurants are so few and far between in this area. My search continues!More

Excellent Mexican food with unusual ingredients and spices. The happy hour nibbles are so large that I just could not eat dinner. Wines quite good at very reasonable price.

Nice decor and atmosphere. Some vegan entrees. I had the portabello mushroom enchiladas. They were tasty but quite salty. I asked my dinner companion to try them to make sure it wasn't just me, and she agreed. Good margaritas. Fast service upon arrival, but had...a hard time getting waiter's attention toward the end of the meal when it was time to pay. I will go again and try something else. Close to movie theater, good location downtown.More
