My hiking group of 10 stopped here because it was convenient to the airport. We really enjoyed the opportunity to try regional food while visiting El Paso, and everyone enjoyed their meal. We were all able to sit together outside and were surprised how low the prices were. If I had one critique, I'd ask them to be more conscious about the single use plastics and to eliminate the styrofoam. Good meal, fast service, good price. The staff was patient answering all our questions about the menu and drinks. I would recommend this to folks in a hurry near the airport.

My dad would bring us here since I was a kid, it was his favorite place to eat.
This is best place for Tortas and only place I come to eat them while in El Paso whether I’m visit or moved back. Always great service!!! Try their Licuados you won’t regret it!

Located in what looks like an old service station, Rainbow Fountain could be a little hard to find. Don't let that stop you from looking. This place is the real deal! Excellent selection of genuine torta sandwiches with great contents and fresh bread. The fries and onion rings are also wonderful. Staff is friendly and prices are very reasonable. Seating is pretty limited so go early or a little later. I'll be back soon!

Food is good but the service not great. They don't even know how to give the correct change out😠 The prices would be reasonable if they know how to get out change correctly

I was here a couple years ago and enjoyed the food so much that I decided to return while I was in town again.
This time I acted like it was my first time and asked the kind lady at the cash register what the menu items were. She carefully explained and helped me make my choice.
I chose the Machaca torta with fries and a lemonade.
The Machaca is chopped meat on a flour bun with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, and quacamole. It was very tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'm usually in El Paso once a year. I plan to make visiting the Rainbow Fountain a must each time I'm in town.

The Rainbow Fountain serves a large variety of tortas, burritos, shrimp cocktails and fruit smoothies. Their selection of tortas is impressive and they also have whole wheat torta buns available. I ordered a torta de milanesa and it was tasty! The tortas come with fries. The fries are very average but the Torta and the salsa buffet more than make up for it.
I arrived around 11:30am and it was already packed full of locals on their lunch break. Although the place was packed, the staff were fast and efficient. It didn't take long to get my food.

Very good restaurant for a quick lunch at reasonable prices. Had the steak tortas and will be back to enjoy. One of those "locals" restaurant that's been around for years.

I was in El Paso on business and a co-worker was told that we just had to try out the Tortas Milanesa. So, we went and ordered them. I just want to say one thing... YUM!

Friday, 21FEB2014, I had spent the day pedaling into Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, upon the invitation of my friend, Alfredo, Curator of Casa de Adobe. Since I'd put in much overtime completing work-duties, I felt comfortable taking a rare day off to pedal to this great ceremony honoring former Mexican President Francisco I. Madero, namesake for the park in which Casa de Adobe had been constructed. It was a tremendous ceremony, but I stole a little bit of the show with my Doublevision and having numerous elementary students sit astride it. I was also pleased because of successfully rigging my Stylus tough on the light mast, which was producing excellent vids. However, my body was fagging, and by the time I was return pedaling, two hombres stopped me on the backwoods road and stole that wonderful albeit obsolete Stylus. I was planning on replacing it anyway, but the real loss was of the students performing a signed memorial to President Madero, as well as the intense route I had pedaled. I ended up wandering about Juarez a bit until I found Power Shots Cyclery, then made a beeline for the USA, passing over Cordova bridge/BOTA (Bridge of the Americas/Libre Punte (free bridge). It was the first time I was told to go through the pedestrian entrance; my Doublevision barely fit through, but I had great help from another pedestrian, Angel. Once pedaling East on Paisano/US62, I made my way toward this restaurant with very specific intentions: it was the third & final eatery of the same name in the same family where I needed to have a meal. Since I hadn't eaten for quite a while, my body was more fatigued than ever but couldn't find any reasonable healthy snack anywhere, not even at a health food store! I dreaded having to climb much, which would be inevitable coming out of the Rio Bravo/Rio Grande floodplain, but was pleasantly surprised to find my dulled body performed adequately, even if the gearing was starting to fail. I dislike pedaling parts of Montana Avenue/US62-180, particularly between Mescalero & Yarbrough, but, I am a vehicle out there, too, albeit a very slow moving one! My salivatory glands were in overdrive when I finally parked next to the entrance--cocktel de camarones grande would soon be my salve. It was the same that I had enjoyed at the other two Fountains; after all, how could I make a balanced comparison with different foods? So this is my conclusion as to which one is best: they're equal; I'll just have to keep sampling. I strongly encourage you to not just sample, but take in a full meal (which can be less than what I paid, which already wasn't much). I must admit this eatery has one edge on the other two: since its location is on Montana/US62-180, which is actually North of my intended road (Cielo Vista or Edgemere or Cosmos), no more significant climbing would be involved. And that, my fine, intelligent readers, makes a difference when you are pushing a heavy bicycle like my Doublevision!
