We went on recommendation of their tacos. On Friday nights the only serve $1 tacos but still have a full bar including $1 margaritas it was a quaint place with great staff. The margaritas are delicious with a chili rim! The tacos were okay very...basic lettuce, cheese, and tomato topping for all tacos (bean, avocado, chicken, and beef and potato) for $1 they were the you get what you pay for.More
We were walking around downtown El Paso looking for a nice place to eat when we noticed this place. We were greeted and seated quickly. We both ordered a cocktail. We received are drinks and ordered our meal. We had the chicken breast salad and...a cubano panini. Food was delivered to our table not long after we ordered it. Both meals were good.More
Had passed this place several times but got invited to go finally last week. We went for lunch and were really pleased that we were served and were able to eat within our lunch hour. I had the Stuffed Green Chile. I don't think there...was even a trace of my chile when I was done. It was FULL of flavor, cooked just right and NO SEEDS!! I had a cup of the Spicy cream of potato soup. You HAVE to have at least a cup with your lunch. The Sauteed Veggies were also just right. Not too raw but not mushy. I DEFINITELY intend on returning.More
This restaurant is in the heart of downtown El Paso and has a lovely outdoor seating courtyard. I was here for a wedding and enjoyed the nice atmosphere that included an indoor water fountain and lovely decorated tile throughout. It has that 'old world' look...to it. The food was good. I had the chicken breast with baked potato and summer squash. It came with a selection of two sauce dressings for the chicken - a cream sauce and a green chile sauce. Mixed together, they were both very good. The chicken was very tender and tasty. The only disappointment were the margaritas. They were not made from scratch, but from a mix instead. I would go back here for lunch or dinner, as I am sure the food is consistently good.More
Ate at 501 twice in two weeks and both meals were solid. Cool restaurant interior (nothing fancy but good mix of old building and newer bar) and menu has goof variety. I had buffalo burger, potato soup and street tacos. All good. Salmon looked good...also. Give it a try.More
