Whenever I'm in El Paso I try Mexican cuisine.
This time La Malincha. Good business. You can sit wherever you want when you enter. Rarity in the US. The Fajitas were actually quite good. The service is friendly and helpful. These people deserve better reviews.

Something a little out of the ordinary for breakfast for me today in El Paso.
Huevos a la Mexicana: eggs with jalapeños peppers, tomato and onion served with hash browns and refried beans, with a spicy green chili salsa and a basket of tortilla on the side. With a pot of strong black coffee it came to US9.47.
I skipped lunch today.

In 52 years I've never felt the need to send back my plate of food so tonight was the first.
Our hotel front desk person recommended this restaurant, saying she'd heard good things. So we thought, why not? Locals have never steered us wrong before during our travels.
I ordered the chicken fajitas, figuring you can't go wrong with chicken. Boy, was I wrong! The plate I got was large and full of food but the chicken looked and tasted like it had been cooked last week and left out to dry in the El Paso sun for a few days into stringy lumps. It was awful! To be fair, the tortillas were fresh and the sautéed onions and peppers were hot. I asked the waitress to take it back to replace the chicken because it was so bad.
However a few minutes later, a different, older waitress came back with the same plate I'd sent back and proceeded to tell me that this was how they made their fajitas here. Really, I responded, does the cook always over cook the chicken and leave it out for days so it can be served to unsuspecting travelers? To cut this sad story short, she didn't offer to replace the chicken, discount my meal or offer anything in its place. She just gave the plate back. I was amazed, honestly. I didn't eat it. My husband ordered the tacos and he said they were ok, not very flavorful but the taco shells were crisp and hot at least.
I've never left a review on TripAdvisor but I have always appreciated reading others reviews to help make decisions on where to eat. I thought in this case I could do a good turn to someone else who might be thinking of eating here. If you decide to eat here, at least don't order the fajitas and make sure you like what you get because they don't care.

UNPROFESSIONAL and HORRIBLE service. If I could give NO star I would. I wish I would have read the reviews before coming to lunch here. First our waitress was already done for the day because we obviously were bothering her. ZERO personality, ZERO customer service! I have NEVER NOT left a TIP in my entire life and this was a first. So she finally served our meal after waiting 30 minutes and she never came back. So we ended up having about 3 servers and all of them were either very unhappy to be there or maybe just MAYBE they are ZOMBIES who do not know how to interact with humans. I've been a waitress before and I would never treat people the way we were treated today. After reading all these horrible reviews I can't help but wonder...how is this place still open for business because honestly the food wasn't all that for a border town. I will NEVER step foot there again, I will NEVER recommend this place and I WILL warn people about the awful experience they will have here when eating a meal should be pleasurable and comforting. Honestly we should have left when we asked what soups they had and she told us "Cuando se acaba se acaba y se acabo" ...there is better ways to communicate lady. I did express our unfortunate experience with the cashier since she told us the manager was not there and she didn't give 2 you know whats...also a ZOMBIE. She shut me up and told me our waitress had left for her break and I told her the least she could've done was check on us one more time and let us know so we wouldn't have to flag down one guy for salsa, another for tea and another one for dessert which btw your FLAN is flavorless CAFE LA MALINCHE...Good riddance

I recently visited this place and ordered the chicken Fajitas, the guacamole was stale the tortilla was salty. I requested the waitress to change the guacamole but she insisted it was fine, I asked for napkins and the waitress made this unfavorable facial expression so I asked her "am I asking for to many things?" and she reply "YES". I soon after I paid and left this place can you believe she was looking for a tip. This is one place I don't recommend at all

Located right on the main square, this is a cozy Mexican restaurant. I went there for breakfast on the advice of someone local. Great food, good salsa, friendly service, and very reasonable prices.

Seated quickly. We were waiting for more people to show up so we didn't order right away. When we were ready our order was taken quickly and service was great! All our order came out correctly and was hot. Very tasty. Atmosphere was good and noise level low. Wish they would offer whole beans on their entres.

This is a place I frequently visit, Caldo de res is awesome! the luch specials are great! Flautas are good too. One of the best chips and salsa in El Paso. What I like here is the food tastes like home made, very traditional.

Stopped by for late lunch at Yarbrough location. Lots of customers but both of our meals were cold. First bad experience for me and normally very good. No one took responsibility and blamed each other.

Burger was good, burrito was small, nachos were ok, enchiladas were "different", and mango drink was a powder drink. And no bean and cheese tacos?!!! Customer service was ok but overall, probably would not return.

Went to La Malinche today in the late afternoon. We were hungry for tacos. My daughter ordered ground beef tacos which she was not happy with as the meat was mixed with potatoes. We saw that on the menu but we were already seated so we thought we'd try it. The tacos completely fell apart so she just ate her rice. I had a Mexican plate with relleno, ground beef and potato taco, rice, beans and 2 red enchiladas. Taco the same as my daughter's. I found the food very boring. Very little seasoning on anything including the salsa served in front of the meal. A mixture of yellow cheddar cheese was used with thick white Mexican cheese which did not melt. Tortillas in the enchiladas were tough tho the red sauce was not bad but again no seasoning. Beans were good and so was the rice. The relleno was small with lots of breading so it appeared large. I was not impressed. Service was pretty good. Place was clean. Waiter failed to bring tortillas after he asked what kind I wanted. I didn't ask again as we had a fairly large meal in front of us. Comparing it to other Mexican restaurants in El Paso, suffice to say, we won't return. Why would we? We took leftovers to my hubby who also agreed it wasn't worth eating there again. Oh, and water in my glass was cold but nasty tasting. I'm sure it was from the tap.

A large group of my co-workers stopped here for an early lunch. We were seated promptly and everyone was nice and welcoming. The service was great with her constantly checking on us for refills. I got the steak tacos for $9 and they were filling & delicious. The complimentary chips and salsa were great as well. Large dining area can seat almost any size group. There are several locations in the El Paso area.
