Went about 11:30am on a Friday and it was empty. Ok ordered the chicken tampiquena which was two chicken breasts w avocado and green chile on top. It also came w a green chile enchilada and refried beans, beans were bland! They should cook w bacon drippings or chorizo to give it some flavor, so I didn't eat much of... More

Where do I start. Being from out of town I expected great authentic Mexican food. Boy was I wrong. This place does not even deserve 1 star. We called ahead ahead of time to make reservations since we had a big party of 16 but they told us over the phone we didn't need them. Upon arrival we asked to... More

Horrendous service, mediocre food, sketchy neighborhood, and watered-down drinks... avoid this place! Went because it used to be a great resturant and a favorite of my father-in-laws, but has obviously gone downhill. Don't waste your time or money - I promise you will regret it - had one of the hands-down worst restaurant experiences of my life! Highlights: - broken... More

Folk's I don't write any reviews really and a place has to be incredibly bad before I take the time to write a review. Back in the late 80's my family and I loved to go to Fortis Mexican Elder Restaurant for authentic Mexican food. After leaving El Paso some 25 yrs ago, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that... We decided to try this restaurant after looking at the reviews on Trip Advisor. We would definitely go back if we visit El Paso again. It was the best Mexican food we had in El Paso. We chose the combination meal and the chimichanga's and beef taco's were wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant!

We lived in El Paso 30 years ago and this was always our "go to" restaurant for authentic Mexican food. We were so pleased to find it still in operation at the same location, but the food would be the real test! It was EXCELLENT! I had a combo plate with a chili relleno, a tamale, an enchilada and a... We went here on a business dinner during the week. The waiter was very attentive and helpful, the food was fresh and plentiful, and the drinks were good as well. The restaurant is very large, quite a surprise from what we thought when we drove up. It is a little more expensive than what people would typically pay for Mexican... More

We have not been in El Paso since 2012, so it has been awhile since we visited Forti's. Let me just say that the service, the food and the drinks were AMAZING! So much so that we went two nights in a row. We compared Forti's to Carlos and Mickey's, Leo's and Kiki's. Forti's was over the top far better... More

We used to live in El Paso and 1 of our favorite restaurants was Forti's. We were in El Paso for business the end of February and decided to go see if it was still open and to our surprise it was. It was a early Sunday afternoon when we arrived so it wasnt crowded. The wait was a little... More

The food has remained unbeatable for more than 30 years. We made two visits during our recent three week stay in El Paso and only regretted we couldn't eat any more! We do miss the border music that used to be the norm, now frequently replaced by easy listening which is fine but takes the flavor out of Mexican. Also... More
