Ernie's is a good place to have breakfast...lunch and even dinner. We go there about once a week to enjoy their food. One thing that me and my lady have noticed lately is that their prices are slowly going up. When they first started their...prices were reasonable. Last time I went there we ate and I asked for soda refills. The waitress told me that she had to charge me for another soda. Wow ...That is the last time you see us eating at Ernie'sMore

Came from New Braunfels to visit my father-in-law in El Paso. On our way back, we stopped at this cafe for lunch and were very surprised by its large space and great decor. My favorite was the Machacado and it was the best machacado I've...tasted ever! Most versions of this food uses dried shredded beef. But Ernie's blew my mind because they use a moist brisket mixed with scrambled eggs and excellent chips and salsa. As a ex-El Pasoan, I will keep this place in mind for lunch and dinner.More

We went to Ernie's on Zaragosa tonight, 1/13/18. While the menudo and the bean burrito were good the rest of our order was horrendous, terrible. We ordered a picadillo burrito and the meat was overcooked, it was tasteless and dry. The tortilla was good but...it was a poor excuse for picadillo. We also ordered a kid's cheeseburger. The same thing, the meat was overcooked, dry and tasteless. They should be ashamed to serve food like this. A little seasoning salt would have gone a long way in making these offerings better. We also ordered a BLT. How can you mess up a BLT? There was hardly any bacon, it was mostly lettuce on two pieces of bread. I feel ashamed for having brought my family. I had recommended this place and was looking forward to a great meal with great service. Horrible, horrible and horrible!!!!More

I can tell you that out of all the visits we have had here, food wise, it was very delicious. It is very hard to please my MIL but she absolutely loved her cheeseburger and fries. The caldo de res that I had was so...good, probably the best I had had in a long time. We would have given five stars except my husband's chicharon burrito had more beans than actual chicharon and our waitress saw that we needed refills and never brought us any. It was a bit busy so we figured it may have been overwhelming for her.More

Not menudo, just meat and caldo. Where's the pozole/hominy? This isn't the first time this so called restaurant/day care does this on a to go order. Day care you ask? Yeah, little girl about 2 or 3 years old taking you to your seat, not...cute! Back to the so called menudo, or meat cal do, even asked the waitress to serve more pozole than meat, and still couldn't do her one job. How hard is it? Don't waist your time coming here!More

The food was amazing! My wife and I got here at 8:30 am on a Saturday, we were seated immediately and the food was amazing. The menudo really hit the spot along with the coffee. We will be back.

My friends and I decided to try Ernie's for breakfast, all went well, until a gentleman approached our table asking for money. We asked the waitress if people were allowed to enter the restaurant and ask for money. The waitress became rude and began a...heated debate. Afterwards the waitress did not bring our check, so we decided to walk to the front desk to pay for our meals, there were 2 waitresses standing there, as we were going to pay for our meals the waitress quickly came to meet us and told us in Spanish that our meals were free because the man asking for money offended us, which was not true. We just thought it was inappropriate. We told her we were paying and we did! Later in the day I called and asked to speak to the owner and the response was "No se Encontre". Then another person got on the phone and said that they were out of town. We will never return! It was a Horrible experience!! We were the ones offended!More

Ordered 2 potato and egg burrototes with crispy bacon on the side and coffee. Took forever for the food to arrive, and the place wasn't half full. The delicious salsa I had the previous day was full of cilantro. I do not care for cilantro;...it's over-used. I especially detest it in the morning. Coffee was weak and tasteless. Potato and egg was very dry, as was the tortilla. Bacon was all dried out and overcooked. I asked for a to-go bag because my wife had already walked out. Server never returned, so I left. Awful experience after a good machaca plate (with no cilantro in the salsa) the day before.More
