If you have a big appetite and a thin wallet, this might well be at the top of your list for Asian food. Food is delicious and serving portions are generous. Menu items are mostly Chinese with some Vietnamese. I was there with a friend on a Saturday at about 6:00 PM and the place was bustling with a whirlwind of activity. Waitresses were very attentive and I noticed they took not only our meal order as soon as we were ready, but everyone's as well. My friend said he's eaten here several times before and never has had to wait more than 15 minutes to be served his order.
The downside: Well, that short waiting time was at a different hour on a week day, because after ordering we had to wait about 40 minutes while watching 6 people come in and leave with take-outs they had called in (earlier?). Two of them each left with enough food to feed large families and it was obvious there were more take-outs than people coming in to eat at this hour on a Saturday. The Hunan sauce was curiously so mild, I could have eaten it by the spoonfuls, though I will admit that my lemongrass chicken was spicy the way I had ordered it. Now, apart from a few pieces of Asian art reproductions on the walls, the place is basically an unattractive conversion of a former house or maybe quadraplex from a bygone era. And, there was a musty odor in the air that seemed to be no longer noticeable by the time we began eating. The short of it is, this is a great place to order take out Asian food. But, don't expect to have a good time here on a first date.

Disgusting! Super disappointed, I used to go when it was SAMS but decided after a long time to go back. Now, Phoenix Palace, let me down to never come back...EVER! I ordered pad thai and my husband ordered orange chicken. The pad thai was extremely FISHY, I am well aware the sauce includes fish sauce but out of ALL the places I've tried it, the fish is barely noticeable and it has a sweet and sour taste. The Phoenix Palace, totally messed up the recipe, the fish taste and smell was overpowering, and the taste was just plain gross. The orange chicken looked almost black, it was hard as a rock, with an old oil taste. We literally left ALL THE FOOD, because the gross taste. We decided to get out of there, paid $25 down the drain. No one to talked to, except waitress who said: "I'm just a waitress here, have been here for two weeks" Neddless to say, DO NOT WASTE MONEY AND TIME here, save your taste buds and wallet and go somewhere else.

This place used to be packed everyday for lunch. We went today and there was one other table. Should have been our first clue. Lunch specials are all in the $8-$11 range, no soup or egg roll. The LP mein was greasy, no vegaetables but good size portion. Thought we would also Oder sweet and sour chicken. They call it pineapple chicken and it was terrible. No one else there, prices have sky-rocketed and the food wasn’t that good. Save yourself the trouble and money and try another restaurant

Phoenix Palace is a very budget minded restaurant with an amazing selection of Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisine. The lunch specials are under six dollars and come with soup, egg roll and large portions (you will not leave hungry.)
