Best burger and shake in the city. Always consistent, clean and very friendly staff. Food comes out fast and hot.

First time trying this place out. Food was great but the folks working the register and doling out your food are not what I'd expect from Danny Meyer. The young lady ("Mi-Asia") who took our order spoke at a volume of 0.5 (on a scale of 0-10). Didn't know the menu well and couldn't answer simple questions. She also got... More

We went to one shop to find a closed notice on window - no reason just closed. Went to another and tried for the first time. These are very popular in NY but for my first time i could not believe how small the burgers were. My caramel thick shake which is a great flavour was only 3/4 filled. For... More

Known for consuming the hour-long lunchtime break of summer interns schlepping at firms in the area, the snakelike line at Shake Shack in Madison Square Park is as iconic a tourist attraction as purchasing a burger from the venue itself. Originally operating from a hot dog cart to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation, “I Heart Taxi,”... More

I get that in NYC most people try to do upscale meals but we were traveling with 3 young kids and when we were hungry we needed to be sure they would eat the food. We ended up at Shake Shack twice in 3 days and we couldn't have been happier. We visited the one in the upper west side... More

This is on par with McDonalds at best. Can't understand the great reviews and the long lines at this chain. We ate at the one near the waterfront. It was quick is the only positive

IF you want one of the best burgers in town you need to eat here! This is probably my top 3spot to eat if you're heading to New York. All from the meat, cheese, bun , sauce everything match and melts in your mouth. The line it's kind a ridiculous if your there around lunch or dinner but if your... More

Better than McDonalds, but like a fattier version of Burger Wisconsin, Burgers and Beers, Burgerfuel, Velvet Burger etc. A must-do when you're in the States though :) get the shake too - more calories than the burger!!

We had a 15 minute wait. They gave us a pager to let us know when our food was ready. We decided to try one of the holiday shakes so we got the chocolate peppermint that had crushed candy cane in it. It was very minty! The burgers were good and I love the crispy fries. Fun atmosphere even in... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
