This is a chance for you to order what you want in the amounts you desire. The burnt ends are delicious and remember, that you can go back for what you like so order small amounts and if you find a winner, you can order again. Steve that works the fixins area is a real gem and wants to really... More

I loved the concept - you get a ticket, and then you just go and pick your dishes from market-like stands. They stamp the ticket, which you bring to the checkout at the end. But that's not important. The important things are: Pulled pork - O M G Jalapeno cheese sausage - O M G Lean brisket - O M... More

We've been to Hill County multiple times, and it's always good. The staff is friendly, and the food is out of this world. We even showed up a little early for our reservation and they seated us right away. Great places for families, friends and couples!

Great atmosphere with live music and superb decoration. We have really liked the concept which is very original. You basically go upstairs to the butcher market to pick the meat and vegetables you want. Food is great !! The only cons is you don't really realize how much you spend and it turns to be quite pricey at the end...... More

Huge portions of American barbecue favourites. Ribs were fat and juicy and the sides of beans, greens and sweet potato mash, along with mandatory mac & cheese. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. It's a good shout if you like hearty meaty foods

The place is very cozy - a bit noisy, due to a live band playing downstairs. The food was disappointing - it was like the spareribs never had seen any glace or marinade. And even though my wife and I ordered the same, we did not get the same amount of meat : Me : 3 x spareribs, 3 x... More

The barbecue is very standard for BBQ restaurants in the south and southwest U.S. So is the ambience, I felt like I was in Texas the minute I walked through the door. Loud, live, not too talented music twanging from somewhere downstairs, cavernous room, lots of unfinished wood, and rolls of paper towels on the tables. Instead of being welcomed... More

This place is, to say the least, a unique dining experience. The food is well prepared and is some tasty beef, pork, and chicken, cooked BBQ style. The sides that you can choose from are diverse and very delicious. Once you figure out how to order here the rest is easy. You take your order sheet with you up to... More

Stumbled across this restaurant whilst wandering around nearby. Loved the interior 'market' feel and the counters where you order your meats and the separate 'sides' counter. I had beef short rib which was ridiculously tasty.. the meat fell off the bone and the flavour was incredible! I could have eaten that all day long! Sides were good and a decent... More

I was a little confused when I first walked into Hill Country but my confusion gave way to the amazing barbecue aroma wafting from the aluminum pit roasters in the back of the restaurant. My waitress kindly instructed me on how to walk up to the counter and order my meat BY THE POUND! I opted for a two meat... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
