What I loved about this place is you pay by weight for your meat and the sides come in different sizes - and best of all you can keep going back for more! (we just didn't find room for seconds). If you aren't sure on which meat you can have a little taste first. The meat was juicy and tender... More

Nice atmosphere, and Texas friendly staff. The moist brisket was great as was the hot link, but the burnt ends left much to be desired. I love burnt ends, but these were not what true Texans know to be burnt a ends. The potato salad is not good and it's certainly not Texas style, but definitely order the penne Longhorn... More

If you like good BBQ, you can't go wrong at Hill Country. Order at the counter by weight so get as much as you can handle. Ribs were great. Tender but with a little bit of bite. Brisket was out of this world. Can't wait to go back.

Wow, this place is buzzing and super-trendy.....The place to go for authentic BBQ meats. No doubt about it the meat is tender and delicious, but ......and this is a huge "but" for me, it is served in wrapped paper, with the sides in paper take-out tubs, and you're expected to eat all this in a cardboard box/tray. No thanks, please... More

Barbecued meat. Every iteration of it. Really good food, fast and friendly service. Little noisy on the top floor though, but maybe it's different on the basement. Sides servings are good as well. Sausages were a little dry, but otherwise the ribs were superb. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Went there for dinner during our first trip to New York City. The restaurant has a lively environment with three floors, basement, first and second floors. We paid the types and quantity of meat and sides that we wish to take. Food quality is reasonable, yet not particularly fantastic. Friendly staff makes us happy when dining.

I'm from the midwest, and I grew up eating a variety of highly awarded bbq... but this place has the best brisket I have ever tasted. Everything is great, including amazing sides... but trust me, order the Moist Brisket!

I wouldn't normally go here for BBQ given I get to travel to Dallas quite a bit, however, my wife suggested we go given the craving for some decent BBQ; she had lived in NYC for years and knew the place. It is a stock standard BBQ joint with all the environment trimmings. The call out for me was the... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
