We found this place because we were going to the theatre across the street. I love Peruvian food and for the most part this was quite good. My main complaint was the limited menu and the lack of heat in the restaurant. Also the waiter wasn't always wild about fulfilling our requests but did so. We had Anticuchos which are... More

I'd like to rate this place as somewhere above average but below very good. The room is very pleasant and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The menu offers many authentic Peruvian options starting with the Pisco sour and ceviche. I had ribs and my husband had paella. Both were better than okay but both were lacking.....something. Not as... More

This is truly an under-recognized family run place. The setting is simple but the food and drink delicious. It is really a bargain for NYC but don't forget your cash because that's all they take. I have been here twice and last night I tried the paella. It was loaded with interesting seafood including octopus and squid. They also have... More

I do not like to give bad reviews; I usually try to find something positive. In that case, the Pincho of beef heart was excellent. But... the beers were not cold to start, the ceviche which should be a staple in a Peruvian joint, was way under average. But the worst was the waiter's attitude. Like it was doing us... More

On July 4th, we were invited to a dinner by the owner of this restaurant and promised an experience and as promised by Nelida , it was a treat. A smallish restaurant/bar on Christopher Street, it looked casual and welcoming. This is what we were served for a good 3 hours---- Chicken wings with fries, ribs, ceviche, mussels, squid, whole fried fish,... More

My wife and I visited Lima's Taste on Saturday night. It was a great little place in a nice part of the Village. Excellent ceviche!! The plantains were also very good. I highly recommend it!

I digested (thank God) the most horrible food I have eaten in a long time. Why did I eat here? It is simple. I had miles expiring in my credit card and used some of these miles as a coupon for this restaurant....only because it is a very nice area of the Village and where I have my favorite shoe... More

Nice place. The food and drinks are very good. Try the Lomo Saltado, the best i've ever had. The waitress was very kind.

I got off work crazy early today and went for a beer and a snack and enjoyed it thoroughly. Lovely and small, the doors and windows all open with a breeze rolling through as the music played at just the right level. Fantastic service and good food. The staff was incredibly kind and made our food with care. I had... More

Peruvian food and cocktails. We only stopped in for lunch to watch the World Cup. Typically they're not open as early. Their fries with sausage and dipping sauces was different, but very good. The sausage tasted more like a hot dog. Nice variety of draft beers and cocktails. My wife had the margarita which is served in a martini glass.... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
