We came here on date night as we live nearby. As friendly as we tried to be, the service was crazy slow and unfriendly throughout the meal. The food was slightly worse than mediocre and not hot. We were very disappointed as we really wanted to like this place given how charming the little building is off of Irving Place... More

Both the upstairs and main level offer a quaint, small and intimate setting for a couples dinner or drinks. We went for drinks and an appetizer. The cheese plate was delicious, although expensive for what we received. All in all, great date night location. Service was excellent.

My husband and I ate here for a late lunch and the place was not full. I think at a busier time it would be a bit hard to hear each other since it is small. But the smallness, and the great windows add a coziness to the atmosphere. I had a delicious tabouleh salad with shrimp. There were a... More

This place looked good, but the food was forgettable. We brought out of town guests and they were disappointed, too. It didn't live up to it's setting

Perfect date spot. Warm, cozy, friendly staff, great food and cocktails, in a historic building oozing with charm. We had braised short rib, great flavor, succulent fall apart texture.

Walked to the house from our hotel in Union Square when we were looking for a place to enjoy Sunday brunch. There were a number of tables available and we were seated upstairs. It's a pretty small place but there was only one other family seated in the room. Really not a good place for private conversations. I ordered the... More

Went with some friends on a Wednesday night. Its a small tight space, like most places in New York, but very lovely and a nice atmosphere. Not too loud. The menu wasn't huge, but everything was tasty. I got the scallops, delicious, a friend got the lasagna, amazing. For an italian restaurant this was the only pasta on the menu.... More

We stopped by for a nightcap every night after wandering in our first night. Sorry I can't say anything about the food, but the atmosphere was homey-but-smart and the bartender treated us well.

Started well with tuna carpaccio and the braised mushrooms. Mains - good cod slightly overdone and scallops in watery sauce (no spoon). Desserts poor - bland generic and frankly brownie overcooked. Dessert wine a bit meh. Other wine good but not awesome. Service a bit hit n miss! Mostly pretty good but probably overpriced and overhyped - average for the... More

Our brunch was a sad sack of non stop Blah punctuated only by ineptitude The pastry basket was utterly stale. Some of the food was totally undercooked even when we had initially asked for well done & even after we sent it back. The frittata had a pathetic square slice of grocery store brand cheese melted on top. We had... More
