An excellent evening at Rocco with the family, the food was incredible, lovely atmosphere and the staff was just incredible. Daniel was our waiter and he's just the most lovely human being! The dinner at Rocco was definitely the highlight of our New York trip,...everyone agreed that we will be going there every time we visit NY from now on.More

Giving it a five because of the great experience we had. It may not have been truly the best steak ever, but it was good. It was expensive, but worth it if you are looking for a place in NYC where you can truly relax,...spend time with friends and be able to talk. The service is superb. The atmosphere is quieter than most places in NYC so you can actually hear each other without yelling. The tables are far enough apart that you don’t feel like you are sharing your evening with the strangers at the table next to you. I’d suggest saving room for dessert because they were excellent, but the food servings are so big you will just have to plan to overeat. Wonderful time!More

We tried this restaurant on our final night in New York. We knew little about it, other than what we could glean from online reviews, but decided to give it a last-second try. Needless to say, we couldn't have been more thrilled with our meal....The food was delicious: I tried the surf and turf which consisted of a filet and lobster tail; My dad ordered a ribeye. Both were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the steaks themselves were as tender and delicious as anything I have tried elsewhere. We also tried the Tuna Tartar and Smoked Salmon appetizers, and the fish could not have been fresher and better presented. Our wait staff was wonderful as well, constantly attending to any questions or requests we had. They were chatty, funny, and very knowledgeable. The cherry on top for me was when they surprised me after our meal with a signing of happy birthday and a delicious piece of cheesecake. Overall, our meal and experience were fantastic, and we cannot wait to return.More

My husband and and I rarely get a night out for ourselves with two young boys at home so when we finally did, we were excited to try Roccos based on all the stellar reviews. BIG MISTAKE! Food - Mediocre. We ordered the porterhouse for...two, medium rare. It was cooked fine but there were definitely pieces of the actual meat that were grisly and chewy and inedible. We also ordered the creamed spinach and the lobster mac and cheese. The creamed spinach tasted like something frozen I could’ve gotten from Trader Joe’s and the lobster Mac and cheese had very little lobster and was lukewarm (bc they prob just have cold mac and cheese spooned out that they just throw inside the broiler for a few min to toast the top) But whatever, it’s New York. People pay a lot for mediocre food all the time. Service- Bad. We got there at 8:00 for a 8:45 reservation and were not seated until 9:20. We watched as almost everyone who came in after us got seated first. Apparently according to the hostess, they all had resos bw 8-8:30 but you would think bc we were actually physically there, they would’ve tried to accommodate us first. They also kept telling us ‘a few min...’ when we went up to ask about the status of the table. If you are running late, just be honest about it and say we are running 30 min behind or whatever. Saves the wasted anticipation. Also at one point, our waiter took a half drunken pitcher of water from the table next to us to refill our water. Sheesh, why not just give us their half eaten bread too. Bill - SHADY!! At the table, they definitely gave us a menu whose prices matched the menu on their website. But when we got the bill, the price for the steak and lobster mac and cheese were much higher ($25 bucks difference!). When we inquired, we were given a menu with updated prices and told this is what the prices were. You could tell our waiter was uncomfortable when we pointed to the price differences and went to tell his managers only to return and say ‘they meant to update the website’ Now at this point, most managers would at least come to the table, acknowledge the mistake and explain or comp us or something... but nothing. We didn’t make a scene and paid the bill with our waiter giving us anxious looks across the room. Now at this point, it’s not about the money but more about the dishonesty and total lack of integrity which prompted me to write this. Maybe it’s an honest mistake at not getting around to updating the menus but it’s hard not to feel like it was a bait and switch and we as the customers were made to feel that somehow we misread the prices on the menu. The manager actually told me with a smile, ‘oh I thought I shredded all the old menus’ and ‘we’ll definitely update that later this week’. Thanks, boss, that’ll be helpful when we return in like...never. (FYI, we also looked at the menu outside posted on their window and that showed yet another set of prices than the ones we saw on the website and the ones we were shown when we complained about the bill.) Now I realize my sphere of influence is quite small and I am not much of a contributor even though I am an avid consumer...but I feel like in all my years as a NYC eater, I have never had such an experience and so I definitely needed to use my voice and say something so others can watch out. If you are looking for a good steakhouse, save your time and money and go to Club A or Gallagher’s for a MUCH better steakhouse experience.More

Roccos was right in the steakhouse groove (I find them worldwide are pretty much all aiming for the same), good steak, well and properly cooked, breezy professional service, crisp linens, sharp knives etc etc BUT holy moley the sizes of the side dishes were massive,...I mean so totally OTT it was crazy ... we said no to the free dessert and no to the free portMore

This was the best steakhouse in the city! We came for lunch and they sat us down immediately and were so kind. We started off with bread. It was delicious bread. Since it was the lunch specials menu I could get a filet minion for...$20 cheaper than it was on the regular menu. It was a delicious filet minion. On the side there was good mashed potatoes and broccoli. After that we got the check and left. This was a great steakhouse!More

We waiting 45 minutes to be seated even after booking a table. Dinner took at least an hour to come after we had ordered. We ordered two fillet steaks. One cooked medium and one medium rare. When the steaks arrived they didn’t know which was...which and actually they were both pretty rare inside. Ordered mash, mac and cheese and onion rings. The mac and cheese arrived and had lobster in. We tried to get the waiters attention but they were busy elsewhere. To be honest, pretty disappointed in the food here. Reviews seem good online. However we’ve been to a few steak houses in NYC and this is one we will not return to.More

I went with a family member for Christmas Eve dinner and had a wonderful experience. It's a lovely 'local' spot, nice decor, great service, and the food was awesome. The appetizers were fresh, and the dinners were delicious. It is a steakhouse, and the steaks...being served around me looked mouth-watering, but we went with seafood and were very pleased.More

We usually don't eat around this part of NYC, but all our plans had us in the area for the whole day last Saturday. After an Amazing show at the Hulu Theater and a Fun Trip to Macy's. We headed over to the restaurant we...made reservations at just off some Yelp reviews. Arriving a little early 3:50 for a 4:00 reservation we were seated and given our menus along with the Brunch Menu !! To Our Surprise We Were Still Able to Order Off the Brunch Menu. Even Though It was Only Until 4PM. It was Incredible with a Wide Selection and the Price was Amazing! We had the Delicious Beacon as an appetizer and I had a Tito's martini. Which neither was included and the total was under $100! The Food was Delicious from the Soup, Steak and Dessert. Not to Mention the Great Service this Place is Certainly #BunkaApproved !!!More

My wife and myself went here to celebrate her birthday recently. As Newyorkers we know there are quite a few really good steakhouses in NYC however most are chain restaurants. Rocco’s is a local restaurant located in the Flatiron district. The staff was friendly and...accommodating. They even sang Happy Birthday to my wife and brought out dessert with a candle. The porterhouse for two was delicious and more than we could eat. The side dishes of German potatoes and asparagus was excellent. An excellent steakhouse if you want a local place.More
