We had a great night in this buzzy restaurant, tasty food, atmosphere lively and service was very good. Loved the guacamole and the margaritas went down a treat. Highly recommend.

Great guacamole and very tasty flautas and quesadillas. Nothing gloppy or sloppy here from the service to the serious Mexican food. Very pleasant dining room and a good wait staff. And the margarita was one of the best ever. Will definitely return!

We've spent a lot of time in Mexico and long ago fell in love with its cuisine. Far too often, unfortunately, the Mexican restaurants back home offer only pale versions of what is available south of the border. Done well, Mexican food is elegant, subtle...More

We had visited Rosa Mexicano over 10 years ago and decided this NYC trip to go back. The guacamole made at your table is still amazing, plus the homemade tortilla chips were great. I had a very good and spicy shrimp dish. They bring rice...More

Party environement, great food, great drinks, feels like a big party in a way. Sit at the bar and wait if you don`t have a seat.

I m so glad I decided to try this place. I've in New York for 10 days working, and can't eat another piece of pizza. I walked into the restaurant and was immediately seated. They did the traditional thing Mexican inspired restaurants do and brought...More

I don’t usually write reviews, but I was appalled at how far down RM has gone since I first dined with them in DC many years ago. Quesadillas were burned, tasteless, and presented worse than any fast food chain. Never again.

Dined on a weekday evening. Arrived after 6 pm and was seated immediately. The restaurant was already about 30+% full. Ordered the freshly made guacamole, the fish tacos and the sampler enchiladas along with the red sangria. The guacamole made on the spot right in...More

Description
Our flagship location opened its doors on First Avenue in 1984 and was bestowed with a glowing, two-star review from The New York Times. From the moment you arrive, old world charm permeates your dining experience through authentic Mexican colors and rustic folk art. Traditional amate gods greet you at the front entrance and brightly colored papel picado hangs from the ceiling. Corn tortillas are made on site and an exposition grill further seduces your senses. With its warm ambiance and outstanding cuisine, this Rosa Mexicano location has remained a perennial New York favorite for over 20 years.
