What a great Mexican restaurant. Make sure to have the guacamole. They prepared it super fresh and in front of you. We had various meals and all of us were very satisfied.

Just awesome Mexican. From the margaritas at the bar to the guacamole to the enchilada samples (Tres Enchiladas). All to go with great service in a very inviting and warm atmposphere. Even though I am not a shrimp person, my wife's Alambre de Camarones (shimp dish) was good as well.

We have dined here a number times over the years and it is always excellent. On our last visit, Jose took great care of us. A few Cadillac margaritas, table side Guacamole and a couple of tasty entrees. Life is good!

Happy hour deals (4-7pm) were terrific. $5 Pacifico and $6 for a pair of wonderful tacos. Had both the carnitas tacos (good) and chicken which had bacon (spectacular). I also sampled the guacamole that the couple next to me had. Unreal! Of course it is $15 and my 4 tacos totaled $12 with Happy Hour. I will be back.

My sisters and I ate here after the marathon. Although our appetites weren't huge, we had the guacamole and it was DELICIOUS! We also had the fish tacos, quesadilla and they were good as well. The atmosphere is very nice, cool and a relaxing place to eat.

This visit was well over due and I wish I had come here earlier. Great space, well decorated and nicely decorated. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and professional . We started with the chips and guacamole, which was nice because they make it fresh in front at your table. The red sangria was great. We had... More

We came at 10 o'clock and had guacamole then enchiladas which we shared. Food was terrific. Service was wonderful and we had a booth in the bar it was very comfortable. DALE does not use gluten. Their menu made it clear that they are careful. Bravo

My wife and I live in New York but had not been to Rosa Mexicano for many years. I had a hankering for good Mexican food and margaritas and thought nostalgically of Rosa Mexicano. Unfortunately it was not what we expected. It was crowded on a Friday night but we waited only a few minutes for our table. I ordered... More

Always a good meal and a great time. More of a locals destination than the others in NYC and more intimate as well.

Description
Our flagship location opened its doors on First Avenue in 1984 and was bestowed with a glowing, two-star review from The New York Times. From the moment you arrive, old world charm permeates your dining experience through authentic Mexican colors and rustic folk art. Traditional amate gods greet you at the front entrance and brightly colored papel picado hangs from the ceiling. Corn tortillas are made on site and an exposition grill further seduces your senses. With its warm ambiance and outstanding cuisine, this Rosa Mexicano location has remained a perennial New York favorite for over 20 years.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
