Unfortunately, we went too late to really enjoy the wonderful dinning experience that we had here. All the food chosen was spot on and tasted wonderful, eating at 10pm though was too late. Full of Mexican patrons too which was a good sign.

You MuST have the guacamole - made at your table and simply delicious (and I usually hate guacamole). Had a really fantastic meal - strongly recommended. Frozen Pomegranate cocktail was fab.

We enjoyed dinner here with family and friends. The Margaritas have a nice kick and the Enchiladas Suizas and the ones with pork are tasty. The servers were attentive, but not intrusive, and they didn't mind that we didn't vacate the table right after we ate. They were able to seat us an hour early since the bar was busy... More

I was quite leery of Mexican food in New York. Living inTexas we have amazing Mexican food establishments.. we were not disappointed to say the least. Even the salsa was authentic. You won't be disappointed.

Went there with my wife for a quiet supper while visiting NYC on the recommendation pf some friends. We were not disappointed. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately and served quickly. The food was truly remarkable. Even the 3 cheese Nachos were awesome; nothing like the American version we get at chain restaurants. We both tried the Quesadillas... More

Went to this place Dec 13th 2016 for dinner and I have to say it was worth going to even though it is a bit pricey when we converted the cost back to £ (UK Sterling) but it is in line with other good restaurants in Manhattan and the best of it is you decide on the tip (they recommend... More

A charming, colorful, authentic Mexican neighborhood restaurant: attentive, warm, wait staff, with excellent timing, quiet enough to enjoy a conversation, no rush. There is an excellent bar, so start there, then add guacamole prepared at the table. You won't be able to decide what to choose from the menu, so I suggest you order several plates to share, but don't... More

What a great Mexican restaurant. Make sure to have the guacamole. They prepared it super fresh and in front of you. We had various meals and all of us were very satisfied.

Our flagship location opened its doors on First Avenue in 1984 and was bestowed with a glowing, two-star review from The New York Times. From the moment you arrive, old world charm permeates your dining experience through authentic Mexican colors and rustic folk art. Traditional amate gods greet you at the front entrance and brightly colored papel picado hangs from the ceiling. Corn tortillas are made on site and an exposition grill further seduces your senses. With its warm ambiance and outstanding cuisine, this Rosa Mexicano location has remained a perennial New York favorite for over 20 years.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
