We were staying at the W Hotel and found great tapas and margaritas right here! Spicy and strong margaritas, fresh guacamole and tasty tapas. Kids enjoyed the fun seating areas and bright decoration. Staff was great!

My spouse and I visited Dos Caminos Times Square on a Sunday afternoon in mid-January 2020. We had tickets to a Broadway show nearby, and Dos Caminos provided a convenient location close to the theatre. This location of Dos Caminos is open daily for lunch,...dinner, drinks, and late night. Guests can book a spot using the online Open Table reservation system. Dos Caminos has additional Manhattan locations including the Meatpacking District (we dined there in October 2011; see our separate review), SoHo, and Park Avenue. Dos Caminos is part of the BR Guest Hospitality Group/Landry’s Restaurants, which also includes the Atlantic Grill, Bills Bar & Burger (we visited the Downtown location in July 2016), Blue Fin (we dined there in September 2016; see our separate review), Blue Water Grill, Strip House, and Troy. BR restaurants are located in New York, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, and Chicago. Dos Caminos occupies a corner location in Times Square on the ground floor of the W Hotel at the intersection of Broadway and 47th Street. The restaurant offers seating on both the window-filled street level (at the bar, at high-top tables, at a high-top bar rail, or at tables that share a banquette on one side) or in the basement (where there is a large bar, tables and booths, and casual lounge seating groupings). Dos Caminos serves Mexican cuisine. As a starter, we shared the Tlacoyos, a sort of “Mexican Hot Pocket” of masa cakes stuffed with refried beans and cheese and topped with crema, cheese, and shredded beef. For our main courses, we ordered the Pork Belly Yucatan (yummy pork belly plated with pickled red onions, cauliflower, mole, and tasty pineapple butter) and the Dos Enchiladas (corn tortillas filled with chicken and topped with two sauces [mole and salsa verde] with a side of black beans). We enjoyed our meal at Dos Caminos; it is one of the better dining options in the immediate Times Square area.More

We have visited this restaurant each time we have visited New York City. The food is fresh and the margaritas are fantastic. I recommend the happy hour at the bar. The bartenders are really nice and they are very knowledgable about tequila. Sit and make...a friend. Guacamole is a must-try. If you go downstairs there is a lounge with another bar. If the top looks busy try heading downstairs.More

Extremely well flavored, beautifully prepared Mexican food. But- the best part of the meal was William, our server. He was extremely knowledgeable with a delightful personality. Just tell him what you like and he will tell you what to order. He was right on! I...Had steak tacos that were just perfect and my husband ordered a taco salad that was as delicious as well as attractive in presentation. Acceptable prices for such tastefully prepared food - something about the seasoningMore

This is our second time to this restaurant. The first time was a very early dinner and it was not crowded went to the bar downstairs and had tapas and margaritas. Was outstanding so we went back a second time. I highly recommend reservations as...the wait was 45 minutes if we did not have one. I was very disappointed in the food this time - serving size. We ordered the naked tacos which is in a bowl and a cane with very little meat for such a high price. Definitely not a dinner portion . We also got an additional dinner and side of rice and beans added to our bill so I would recommend checking your bill.More

We entered very excited to cross this off our New York bucket list. We were traveling with our toddler who was on a stroller. We asked for a seat with a view of Times Square. There were available seats but were told by the receptionist...there was none. That’s fine - we get it, we had a stroller. She told us we would be more comfortable at the lounge downstairs. She proceeded to accompany us to the elevator, and sent us down on our way, only telling us that they had lots of space downstairs. The elevator made its way down and opened to what seemed like the back, a staff only area, so we made our way to where the tables and other customers were, promptly taking our seat. Then at least 15 minutes with waiters/waitresses passing back and forth not minding us. Finally we called someone’s attention and asked for the menu. Then there seemed to be some confusion among the staff as to what we were doing there, who we were. Then one staff member went up to us and said quite curtly that we were supposed to go check in with the lady at the front of the lounge before sitting. We explained we didn’t know that, we followed the directions of the lady upstairs and we thought this was the lounge area. Apparently there was another lounge area which we weren’t told. All we were told was that we were better off eating downstairs as it was warm, roomier, and better for a toddler. We said that she didn’t explain about checking with any lady out front - we thought SHE was the lady our front. They told it us it was fine but we only had 45 mins to eat and run because the venue was fully booked for dinner. Which is fine, we just walked in. They brought our food, we started eating. When we would order new items, or ask questions, they all seemed to address us with veiled annoyance and condescension, which is the worst. I’m not sure who got in trouble for the mishap of letting us in or what, but every movement we made we felt like we were spotlight. We didn’t even finish our food. We took it to go and wanted to get the heck out of there. On our way out, we again made our way to the elevator that the lady upstairs made us go through. And what do we get? Another condescending look from another staff member, a look of what the heck are you doing here. We obviously made mistakes, but not due to our ignorance, but due to the series of mishaps that began with the instructions of the lady upstairs. Worst dining experience and customer service I’ve ever experienced. We have been around the world and back, and we have never ever felt more unwelcome at an established. Don’t waste your time.More

Out and about in NY around Times Square? I highly recommended this restaurant if you like Mexican food, a relaxed atmosphere and good service. I will definitely go back.

Though I can't say anything about the quality of the food or the very good service, I think the location is what makes it very expensive..

We met this restaurant with an expectation of a nice place in the Center of the Theater district. And maybe guest are on their way to the Theaters in a hurry, but we weren’t! 45 min after our seating we were out on the street...again. The speed of the food coming to our table - we didn’t finish our starters before main dish were served, was to much. The loud place and the obvious quest for more than two seatings per night kill the experience. It was without any soul and class!More

Great Times Square Choice. Food was fresh and not too expensive. Comfortable people watching spot with good service. Going to try the vegan tacos at home. Awesome cauliflower.
