Just stopped by for a beer, classic furnishing, comfortable atmosphere, great service. Classy bar area. A bit pricey, $8 for a draft.

We arrived at 21:00, after trying to reserve a table through online, with no luck. At our arrival, the lady at the front tried to deny us a table inside as she said: "it was full". Looking inside, it was totally the opposite and so...we insisted that she could go and check with the staff if there was any, something that at that point was evident. They finally gave us one of the many available tables inside the restaurant. Not quite comfortable by that point. We were celebrating, so we tried to overcome the initial situation, and quickly chose the Arugula salad and the Vegetable Risotto. Both very good. The salad was delicious, the leaves, the camote, the zucchini, the parmesan cheese and the dressing very well combined. The risotto was wonderful. The temperature. Every vegetable in the right cooking point, crunchy, amazing.More

Upper West Side industrial meets old world tavern vibe with a large space including a private room for an intimate party. We arrived earlier than our reservation and were seated quickly. The restaurant was just about filled by the time we left around 8pm. Well...staffed with nice service, two of us ordered from the Restaurant Week menu and two from the regular menu. The RW menu was varied. We had mussels and shrimp scampi for appetizer and branzino and hangar steak from the RW dinner menu; off the regular menu, French dip sandwich and steak. Everything was great including cocktails. Ice cream and coffee for dessert were also really tasty. This location is close to the Central Park entrance near Imagine and Strawberry fields. The entire evening gets an all around thumbs up from all of us.More

Really yummy brisket meal. The fresh pretzel appetizer is good but small for the price. We liked this spot. Our Seamless delivery came fast from here and food was perfectly warm when it arrived.

A lot of chain restaurants in the area, but this one is just a block away from Times Square and so much better. Nice menu and wine list. Large restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The food was very good, a decent portion, and reasonable.

We made reservations to The Ribbon during restaurant week to eat before going to the "Jagged Little Pill" broadway show across the street. We had enough time, ordered everything upfront and told our server that we were going to the show. Everything took FOREVER to...arrive, like 25+ minutes for a drink and so much longer for the main courses. I had the lobster curry and it was really good, I wish I had more time to enjoy it. We had to take the desert course to go and were still late to the show. Every table around us was waiting for a long time and we were told it was kitchen delays. Our server was very nice about it and they comped our drinks.More

We recently went with a group of 10 on a Friday night. The staff was all friendly and the place is decorated really cool. I did find it funny that there were some scraps of holidays gone by still lingering around - fake spider webbing...hanging from a picture and some white/silver deflated ballons from maybe New Year's Eve. We got a cocktail and everyone's was very tasty - expensive though $18 - but it's NYC in mid-town. I asked the waiter at the beginning if he could separate the checks and he said no but he could do different charges on credit cards. I would think you could easily split the check by chair but they wouldn't. Our crew didn't want to just split evenly because some people didn't have drinks and ordered only a small amount of food (which I get too). It was just annoying and cumbersome to try and figure it out between 10 people. The food was just ok - I would never recommend this place on the merit of food. It was comparable to an Applebees maybe. It wasn't bad - just at $35-$50 a plate, I expect it to be pretty darn good . My take away - basic tourist trap- cool atmosphere - decent drinks - the servers themselves were good but the customer experience is bad - food is ok. Price is expensive for what you get.More

Great food, fantastic atmosphere. Their fried chicken is to sour for good. Every hung was delicious and the service was fantastic. Love the vintage book they let you take with as a momento.

Recently, my husband and I went to The Ribbon for dinner. The food was great and the wine was affordable - no mean feat in NYC! This place, back in the day, was a Speakeasy, and there are still bullet holes in one of the...walls to attest to some of its previous criminal associations! Even though it is quite large, service was good. Can't wait to go back!More

We had heard a lot of positive about The Ribbon, but it didn't live up to the hype. Or experience ranged from terrible to great during one meal. We got seated, but efter a few minutes the waiter asked us to move to another table...since they had a large party coming and needed our table. No problems with that. We ordered our food: The Ribbon Steak, the meat was very nice, the peppercorn sauce was very average, fries perfect. Salmon with buttered leeks was uninspiring, very average. For the kids we got a burger, and it was the worst ever, it was bread and a patty. nothing else. I've never seen a sadder burger, What they did do very well was the customer care, we got comped the kids meals and they treated us to a spread of desserts on the house. These desserts were all awesome. Generally missing any kinds of fresh vegetables accompanying the main dishes. High and low, we might give them a second chance.More

A friend and I made reservations for Sunday brunch before seeing A Soldier Play on Sunday, February 9. We were seated quickly, however no server came to our table after 15 minutes of waiting. We noticed newly seated customers were being serviced promptly. The manager...was alerted, he apologized and took our order. He did offer us a complimentary drink as a result. The food came quickly, however a server did not follow up to see if we needed anything. However, the food was well prepared. When we were ready we had to yet again alert someone we wanted the bill. The initial bill given was for another party and needed to inform the staff of the error. We were excited to visit this location based upon the customer service from the 72nd location. I will never visit this location again.More

I came here with my hubby and another couple. We all ordered different things and everyone enjoyed their meal. You never know when you get into tourist areas what you're going to get, but this place was good. I would go back. It is very...loud, but has a nice low lighting. Make a reservation so you can just go on in.More

Walked in after a show for a late dinner. We were sedated upstairs in a tiny booth for two next to a very busy 8 top that was doing business on their computers,of hitch there were many. They could have sat us way away from...that table but they didn’t. Our server took about 10 minutes to show and then another 10 to get water and drinks. The oysters were very good, the pate a bit dry. my hubs got the pumpkin soup and it was fine and the Amish chicken which was good but unremarkable. I think we would have enjoyed it more if our server was wanting to do her job. We won’t be back.More
