Scarlatto is always one of our top picks when we come to the City for a Broadway show. It did not disappoint tonight. I had the English Elderflower cocktail and husband had a Peroni. Both were cold and delicious. We shared the Burratta, tomato and...prosciutto appetizer. He had the chicken parmesan which he says is the best anywhere and I had veal scallopine with wine, lemon and capers. Too full for dessert, but I did manage a cappuccino. Our server, Eduardo, was friendly and attentive.More

We weren't looking for a heavy dinner so just ordered an insalata mista, pear gorgonzola salad, the calamari and bottle of wine. All were perfect choices, salads were fresh and crisp, pear was microplaned which was especially tasty. Calamari was obviously fresh and not frozen,...just excellent. Wine list had many medium priced bottles. Next time we are in New York we will definitely go for a full meal.More

Enjoyed dinner before Broadway show. Popular with locals. Great service. Nice menu. Papperdelle alla Bolognese. Small, intimate restaurant. Be sure to make s reservation. Liked that not put in a dark, noisy corner as 1 person. Had a great table. Reasonably priced. Will be back.

Nice, cozy, non touristy restaurant near the theaters. Food was excellent authentic Italian. Prices were surprisingly reasonable for its location. We had an early reservation, and although the restaurant was quite full already, our table was ready when we arrived. Service was quick, and we...had no worries about being on time for our curtain call. Everyone in my party of five loved their entree and dessert. Espresso was amazing! Great meal and dining experience.More

There are a number of reviews that makes Scarlatto sound inconsistent. Our experience was very good. We had an early reservation so we could make a show we booked a 5 pm reservation and the restaurant was only partially filled. By the time we left...it was bustling. The restaurant is small and intimate. The staff was attentive. Our water glasses were always full. The waiter was prompt. The food was good, certainly not the best Italian I have had, but far from the worst. I ordered their fusilli and sausage and my wife had the fettuccine and wild mushroom. Both were tasty and plentiful. We also had the pear and Gorgonzola salad which was excellent. Overall, I would recommend Scarlatto.More

On a recent trip to New York City my wife and I walked by this restaurant many times admiring the classy, classic decor through the windows. We finally booked a reservation and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Fantastic Sicilian and a talion food options and...tremendous wait staff. Especially Frederica, who is from northern Italy. The red wine, the interesting appetizer, the scrumptious entrées, and the delightful desserts all added to a wonderful evening in New York. I highly recommend!More

We stumbled on Scarlatto a couple of years ago and now make a point of coming back when we visit the city. They have the best pasta I’ve ever had; and a very good, reasonably priced wine list. The location is excellent as it is...near the theaters - Richard Rogers is just down the street. Staff are friendly and attentive.More

It reminds me of the classic red sauce joints you'd find in Western New York. That's not a bad thing per se. The service was uneven at best. Other tables that came in after us got bread, water, and basic acknowledgement before we did. So,...no great off the bat. Waiter seemed disengaged (hard to say what was going on, so...?), but got the job done in a very perfunctory manner. I'm not looking to have a drawn out conversation with a server/waiter, but you can make it look like you're paying some attention when orders are being placed. The food itself was quite food, with large portions. That said, there are better options nearby, and will not be returning.More

This restaurant might be small but it is extremely quaint with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Despite being almost full we were fortunately seated at a lovely table. The server promptly greeted us with a warm welcome and menus. After taking our drink order we...were left to peruse the extensive menu. We ended up choosing the pasta carbonara and the chicken parmesan, and neither meals disappointed. In fact they were excellent! The food is served hot and very fresh, if you can’t taste the homemade sauce you don’t know Italian food. Our meals and overall experience were exactly what we were hoping for on our first trip to New York! We are very much looking forward to going back and Scarlatto’s is most definitely on our list!More

It's smaller now, but still very very good. Be sure and note the new address. The old address is on Google, and we were pretty confused but made it on a rainy, snowy night. The staff has been curtailed, but I realize that it's expensive...to run a restaurant. Anyway, be aware of the new address!!More
