Had a couple of slices of cheese pizza and some miniature paninis. Both were delicious but I like the pizza the best. We also had a chocolate and vanilla mousse and a peanut butter mousse these were delicious as well. It definitely wasn't knock it out of the park delicious but it was still good.

After getting out of MET at 9 pm were looking for something to eat, discovered this small Italian joint and glad we did. The pizzas were terrific as was the cannoli! Want to go back for more!

As family of 3, tracked this place down the day we visited the Met Museum. This area of NY is generally really expensive for eating out, but DPs was both brilliant value and great food. You can queue and order pizza at the counter, grabbing a free seat if one is available after getting your order, but we sat down... More

Super casual and super delicious. If you are willing to walk a straight shot east after you go to the MET, this is worth the walk. Excellent pizza and garlic knots, served flavorful, cheesy and piping hot as it's supposed to be. Order at the counter and then sit in the tiny eating area in the back. Price is fantastic:... More

I've worked in the neighborhood for 20 years and for as long as I've been here, so has Don Filippo. I've eaten everything from slices, to pies to heros to dinners. The food and service are consistently good. They have a variety of speciality pies and your typical Italian menu and all my selections have been top notch. In a... More

Stopped in for slices. Filled with locals. Large portions. You can order at the counter and then sit or you can sit and have them take your order.

It's a small place, and I kind of stumbled on it and decided to give it a try - very good decision. The price is very fair and the pizza is great, very much like the original Italian pizza. The service was great, the very kind guy behind the counter helped us pick the best flavor for us and didn't... More

I really need to try other things when I go to NYC when I hit an Italian place like this, but I live in a virtual pizza wasteland in California. So when I hit NYC I want a PLAIN slice, this means just cheese, sauce and crust. Yes you get some great pepperoni, sausage etc on pies in NYC, but... More

We have lunch here, I got the meatballs and spaghetti and my girlfriend had the Don Filipo's specialty pasta and let me tell you that was some of the best chicken pasta I've had. Definitely recommend this place. Very affordable too.

The pizza was good and not too expensive. Nice little place with seating and clean restrooms. I ordered pasta fagoli and some mini paninis as well.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
