Very laid back atmosphere and great live jazz music! Also many games to play such as ping pong, pool, foosball etc. It felt like your best friend's somewhat worn down basement where you could spend hours just having a good time.

You go down into the basement and it's huge inside. There are multiple game and everyone is playing - table tennis, pool, chess, shuffleboard (you have to try that) and others. And there's a live jazz band and the drinks are pretty reasonable. The liveliest place we've been to for ages and for people of any and all ages.

Great place to hang with a drink and play some pong or pool to relax. Can get crowded sometimes. Live jazz music is always so good there.

This place has it all, pool, ping pong, video games, foosball, darts, and shuffle board, live music, and $4 beers, and a $3 entrance fee. This place was pretty cool, and had decently priced drinks for Manhattan. The only downside was the music. They played some weird stuff. Jazz one minute, organ pipes the next, followed by oriental sounds. It... More

After walking down into what looks like a super sketchy basement, we ran into a really cool spot for live music and games. They have pool tables, ping pong, and board games. Super cool place.

Tried this place out bc I'm a jazz lover, as well as a drinking game lover. Fat Cat did not disappoint. Great spot to have some beers and listen to some local jazz. Don't expect friendly bartenders. Or a clean bathroom. I actually saw a cockroach in the bathroom. But if you want to pound some beers and play some... More

Great bar with many games (ping pong, pool, chest, backgamon. Drinks are cheap but they do not serve usual sodas as coke or pepsi so I went for a lemonade. I recommend for a nice time with friends.

Great night in this typical jazz new yorker bar. We have been here to listen to some jazz and I have to say, what experience! Great ambient, people all nice and friendly, drinks at very good prices and plus some good live jazz music! The calendar jazz concerts events is magic! And entrance for only 3$ and beers for 6$!... This is a fun place for beer with your buddies. Not a good date night Bar. We went for the live music. that was a huge disappointment. It looks like a college dorm in there. Old couches and beat up everything. Fun for the "Boys", but not very inviting if on a date. Much better music venues in the area.... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
