Very cozy wine bar although they do serve food and I think cocktails. Great for groups or a romantic evening. The back area has all cozy couch seating and is very dimly lit with fun decor. Great for a date or a group of friends.

When meeting up with girlfriends this is one of my go to spots. The people are awesome and the selection of wine and snacks are the perfect mix.

The Turks and Frogs experience is always an authentic West Village New York Experience. You can tell from the atmosphere that locals from the neighbourhood eat and drink here, and it's very friendly and chilled. We sat at the bar and had 2 or 3 really pleasant glasses of wine before dinner elsewhere. We got chatting to the bartender who... More

My brother and I were wandering around looking for a place to eat. The sign for Sangria caught our eye and he said he had been there before and it was amazing. He wasn't lying. The tables are small and it was quite dark, but a very soothing atmosphere. The sangria was perfect on this warm and humid evening, such... More

We had lunch appetizers and some wine here. Really enjoyed it and recommend that it's worth looking for.

Good selection of wine, small plates and very romantic. great date place. Back of the bar there are some cozy lounge chairs.. these guys only serve beer and wine only, but if you are bored you can always walk to the next door orient express which has great cocktail selection!

I have dropped into Turks and Frogs since it opened more than a decade ago. It is a charming little wine bar with a small, slightly pricey, but tasty "starters" menu to pair with the wine. They have an extensive wine list and their prices are not outrageous. Not sure what you want, let them guide you. I would highly... More

Feel free to check the place out but know you'll be left to your own devices when ordering. Not much input, or at least nothing useful. And if they're out of the wine you request, you'll likely get a reco that's 3x as much and not nearly as good.

Stumbled upon Turks & Frogs one evening while walking around to the West Village. The staff is awesome and very knowledgeable. It was nice and quiet around 5pm but would be a great date spot.

We had a great evening at Turks & Frogs. It is a little cozy place on a street which is somewhat quiet at night. Atmosphere is very important to me to feel at home, this place is candlelit, intimate and artistic. I liked the Ottoman flavor of the room as much as I enjoyed the mirrors and sumptuous red walls.... Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
