Well worth the trip to the lower east side/East Village to Rays for a good old Milk Shake or an Egg Cream. One of the last old school shops and storefronts of the neighborhood. Treat yourself!

Small and claustrophobic and slightly sketchy - Perfect. Grab a hotdog and a egg cream and head across the street to Tompkins Square Park to watch locals and maybe a local outdoor market. One of my favourite quirky places in NYC.

Excellent beignets, hot and piping, a perfect late night snack. Messy lettering on the signs. Friendly folks behind the counter. Full of life and neighborhood spirit.
