This place was authentic and made an amazing egg cream. It looks very unassuming but it is worth walking in and getting something.

Small and claustrophobic and slightly sketchy - Perfect. Grab a hotdog and a egg cream and head across the street to Tompkins Square Park to watch locals and maybe a local outdoor market. One of my favourite quirky places in NYC.

There is no place like Ray's Candy Store. Nothing beats walking into Ray's after a night of drinking and ordering fries (at least 4 potatoes worth!), beignets or a black and white milkshake. Having some small talk with Ray makes my night every time! Always...More

Excellent beignets, hot and piping, a perfect late night snack. Messy lettering on the signs. Friendly folks behind the counter. Full of life and neighborhood spirit.
