Spotted Wogies as we had Friday's in our sights with food and cocktail/beer in our plans. We had been walking for a hike and needed a break. Wogies appears as a cool neighborhood restaurant/tavern. Beer is king, their food is mediocre. We ordered a hamburger hoagie and shared fries. I ordered several beers. The service was ok but the food... More

After a swanky cocktail event on the 34 floor of one of the New World Trade Centre Towers I wanted to get to know a bit about the old neighbourhood. Before entering I had no idea what a Philly Steak was, but by the time I left I was hooked. Fast and friendly service in a buzzing local joint where... More

Absolutely loved the Hoagie and the salad we had, they bake their own bread and you can tell. Really attentive and friendly service. We ordered waffle fries and ordinary fries so we overdid it. Chilled out place for a late lunch. If you're into sports there were three TVs on the go but no obtrusive noise. And for NYC reasonable... More

Hands down best wings and cheese steaks in NYC. It's ultimately a cheese steak place but I tend to go there for the wings. The owner is uncompromising when it comes to quality. They make everything in house including their wing sauces and bake their own bread for the cheese steaks. Awesome staff and very reasonably priced food. Great beer... More

We stopped by on a whim after doing the Statue of Liberty tour. It's walking distance. Great cheesesteaks and friendly service. I think someone said this was on the 'man vs food' tv show. It was perfect for a hungry group.

A very nice relaxed bar, good happy hour deals from 5pm to 8pm. Friendly staff and a nice crowd. Food also looks good.

We came over to visit from the UK and had heard great things. Buffalo wings were amazing! Zingy and full of flavour and the perfect amount of heat. Cheesesteaks were great. So was the wine and the service too. If we were here for longer we'd definitely be back. Really chilled out atmosphere, loved it!

Although known for it's cheese steaks, and you won't find better in NYC, Wogies has probably the best wings in town, too. For the brave of palate, the Krazy sauce is hot but also very flavorful. Super friendly staff and great crowd too. This should be your go to place for wings, beer, cheese steaks or any combo thereof.

This review is pretty biased since I am from Philadelphia and now call NYC home. Wogies (West Village) is bar-none the best place to catch an Eagles game, or any NFL team for that matter during the NFL season. It is small so be sure to get there early if you want a good spot to watch the game(s). You... More

went on a sunday afternoon, didn't know anything about this place. we had a couple of sandwiches, that were very good, and very reasonably priced. it's small, but totally cool, good service, looks like a neighborhood type of place, but the staff were very friendly, and efficient. if we are in the neighborhood again, we'd probably stop in, although we... Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
