Stopped here for a drink when out walking around the Village late afternoon. Weather was nice so we sat outside. We enjoyed the ambience; reasonable selection of alcohol, beer, & wine. Friendly service. We had already eaten a late lunch so I can't comment on any food.

This part of Greenwich is increasingly desolate, with the continuing works on the memorial blocking off the road. Aside from a few cafes, and a TGI...Wogies is the only place to go..and it saves the area. A very friendly bar, sports on tv, nice people and bar staff, it is cosy and welcoming. The food is good, quick and good value.... More

Small and friendly bar serving food. Great location. Free wifi good for people watching or a quick drink en route to high line.

Stopped here for a couple of beers while walking the city. We were able to sit outside & watch the folks play kickball across the street & the people walking Greenwich Ave. Fun times. Clarisa (I hope I got that right) was a great server and made the visit for us. We ordered a few sodas for the kids (17... More

When in Manhattan, eat like the locals. Loved it. A lot of outside seating, perfect for people keep watching. Good ol American food. Great beer. Heart of Greenwich.

Spotted Wogies as we had Friday's in our sights with food and cocktail/beer in our plans. We had been walking for a hike and needed a break. Wogies appears as a cool neighborhood restaurant/tavern. Beer is king, their food is mediocre. We ordered a hamburger hoagie and shared fries. I ordered several beers. The service was ok but the food... More

After a swanky cocktail event on the 34 floor of one of the New World Trade Centre Towers I wanted to get to know a bit about the old neighbourhood. Before entering I had no idea what a Philly Steak was, but by the time I left I was hooked. Fast and friendly service in a buzzing local joint where... More

Absolutely loved the Hoagie and the salad we had, they bake their own bread and you can tell. Really attentive and friendly service. We ordered waffle fries and ordinary fries so we overdid it. Chilled out place for a late lunch. If you're into sports there were three TVs on the go but no obtrusive noise. And for NYC reasonable... More

Hands down best wings and cheese steaks in NYC. It's ultimately a cheese steak place but I tend to go there for the wings. The owner is uncompromising when it comes to quality. They make everything in house including their wing sauces and bake their own bread for the cheese steaks. Awesome staff and very reasonably priced food. Great beer... More

We stopped by on a whim after doing the Statue of Liberty tour. It's walking distance. Great cheesesteaks and friendly service. I think someone said this was on the 'man vs food' tv show. It was perfect for a hungry group.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
