We had a nice diner there. For two we tasted the shared plate of sushi and the quantity was really sufficient for us. Moreover the quality of the food (sushi and miso soup) was excellent. We spent a nice time there until the end our...More

When I lived in NYC this was my favorite sushi bar - and the sushi is still some of the best around the city. Unfortunately, it's been "discovered", and the place is teeming with hipsters, yelpers, and god knows who else. Rather than any kind...More

The place is pretty cramped and noisy so you're not going for the relaxed dining experience. There's vast variety of sush and sashimi, and also an oyster bar. It's all very, very good and also reasonably priced. If you're not with a group I can...More

While the decor and service define mediocrity, Kanoyama's sushi is sublime. And at the mid-tier price point, Kanoyama just might serve the best sushi in the city.

I've been to Koi in LA several times, this was my first in NYC. It did not disappoint. If you're ever in LA or NYC, it is a definite must!

Extensive sake selection. Very friendly, pleasant, professional service. Prices really not that bad. Sushi fresh and tasty, with large, delicious cuts of fish. Looking at what others were eating, there are some pretty intriguing-looking dishes available. A lot goes into food presentation. Atmosphere is cozy,...More

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses

old-time neighborhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
