My daughter and I walked twenty minutes from her apartment in Harlem just to try these famous cookies. We tried the double chocolate, chocolate chip walnut and the dark choc peanut butter chip cookie. They were all delicious and well worth the effort. These cookies...are divine!!!More

Go to the original store, down the little metal stairs into a crowded space and embrace some of the most delicious aromas in the city. Each cookie is gigantic and could easily replace a meal. And they can’t be beat, still today, pretty much anywhere...in America. You will be smitten.More

Worth. Every. Penny. I love the chocolate peanut butter chip and my husband loves the dark chocolate chip. Also good: scones and baguettes with jelly & butter. The cookies are big enough for a meal, so go ahead and get a warm one when you’re...hungry for the most delicious cookies EVER!More

I expected a lot when we first moved to NYC as folks rave about Levain cookies. We liked them but weren't impressed and don't get the hype especially since the cookies are enormous. The one positive is always getting a hot cookie when you purchase...it.More

Their products I have tried (over a period of a few months) were at their upper east side store, on 3rd Avenue. It appears that each store makes all of their own baked goods. I have tried their chocolate/peanut butter-chip cookie. I felt that the...cookie taste was inconsistent. In three tries, they ranged from poor to very good. The sticky bun with raisins was the LEAST SWEET sticky bun that I have ever tasted at my age of 78. The raisins hardly had any flavor, and I can say the same thing for the pastry. Their chocolate chip cookie, I felt, had the flavor of a chocolate candy bar, without the flavor of pastry.More

Before heading to the Natural history museum, we stopped to Levain to purchase one of their famous cookies. The place is really a hole, offers a few options but I saw most people opt for the cookies, so I gave them a try. I bought...a choc chip walnut cookie, which was massive and cost 4 usd. The cookie was fine, I would expect to be blown-away but they taste no better than mine. The outer shell is a bit crispy, inside they are a gooey mess which made sharing pieces very hard as it fell apart once opened. After I had it all I had a tummy ache, probably because of the amount of butter and sugar. As mentioned by others, it's cool to share one, but otherwise it's too massive and in the end you don't even enjoy it.More

I would say 1-2 days. The decadent cookie is soft and the chocolate gooey. Just had them again yesterday!
