My daughter and I went here on a recent Sunday. The restaurant served brunch, but there were plenty of non-brunch items for us to try. This is a small plates restaurant, so you get to try lots of different foods. The server suggests 4-6 plates for two people. We had five, and then ordered 2 desserts. We were stuffed by... More

Top notch food, presentation and service. Several rounds of small plates to share and taste. Everything of the highest quality. Despite this, the restaurant is pricey for the amount of food presented. Several of us left and were hungry again within a few hours and had to find a place to eat.

This is a great place! The food is simply divide. It's served tapas style, and we weren't sure what to expect, but much to our delight, it was thoroughly enjoyable! Teh staff was very attentive, and as a special treat Chris Santos happened to be in the restaurant the night we were. Really was a fantastic experience!

We had a small party of three and a reservation for 9:15, but it was past 10pm before we were eventually seated. The place was packed and can be a bit chaotic: we were twice sent back upstairs to the bar to wait for our table. But once seated, the service was crisp, the wine list extensive and food excellent... Came in for dinner with friends. We've been to Beauty & Essex several times and were excited to try another one of their restaurants... it lived up to it! Tapas were creative, well paced and great tasting! Server was awesome and knew the menu well... we were in good hands... would definitely come back!

Niced sized plates to share. Pierogies were excellent, the lamb gyroes were wonderful and the hot chicken wings were tasty. Had a nice bottle of wine. Service was excellent. Attentive without hovering. Waiter actually talked to us not at us. Smallish restaurant so ask for a booth style table if you want a little more privacy. Over all great dinner... More

Had booked a table a couple of weeks in advance and were still asked to wait for over an our, classic NYC service where no one really wants to speak to you. We had a couple of cocktails which were delicious and the chicken arepas and the beef and broccoli - the latter was my utter favourite! Great atmosphere and... More

Really enjoyed everything about this place. Food was delicious, and loved that it was all tapas style so you could share and try multiple things. Everything was very fresh and incredibly flavorful. Drinks were equally creative and delicious, and the atmosphere was full of life - loved everything about it

The service is so mean that it takes away from the taste. We arrive on time, two of our party is late for our 6 p.m. reservation, the entire restaurant is dead as tomb, and they will not seat us. We stand at the small hostess stand asking why not, and are told flatly, "That is our policy." No invites... More

Description
Chef/owner Chris Santos has teamed up with Tao owner Richard Wolf, and the James Beard 'Best New Restaurant Design' award winning firm AvroKo, to create The Stanton Social, a staple and neighborhood favorite of the Lower East Side.

The design of this three level hot spot tips it's hat to the neighborhood's garment history and offers diners a culinary odyssey. All menu items are designed for sharing, offering guests a chance to experience multiple dishes and flavors throughout their meal. In addition to its 120 seats, The Stanton Social offers a lounge and bar on the upper level, featuring guest DJs. Dishes range from $9-$30 each.

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
