Sfoglia used to be “the place” on the UES. Getting reservations was like winning the lottery. Then they expanded which was great. But the last two meals we had were not great. I’ll try it again. Hopefully it was a one-off (twice).

Mediocre food and way overpriced. This place wouldn't survive in a more competitive neighborhood. Clam appetizer was tasteless and cavatelli main was ok but nothing special. Go elsewhere.

There is no doubt whatsoever that the food at this restaurant is excellent. We had a wonderful meal. I had the crispy octopus with fennel, lentils and a spicey parsley puree, followed by Sfolgia's signature chicken alla mattone, both were delicious. My wife enjoyed her...More

When sfoglia first opened it was impossible to get into and had amazing food. They expanded and now there’s more seating. We had a few bad meals in the past year but maybe chef was off. Will try it again. The menu is limited and...More

Sometimes great. The branzino with olives and orange cooked in parchment was sublime. Perfectly cooked. The triangle pasta also amazing-tasting but heavy on the butter sauce. Bread, excellent. Crispy octopus meant well but too salty. Its accompanying lentils and fennel great foil. Nott a fan...More

Although the front of the restaurant is overcrowded, the ambiance is lovely and you really feel like you are in a Tuscan home. We got the charred octopus, pappardelle bolognese and the chicken which were all excellent! The service was also very good. I will...More

Sfoglia is a lovely little trattoria residing on an unassuming stretch of the Upper East Side, across the street from the 92nd Street Y. Farmhouse tables topped with the season's produce are the appropriate setting for Sfoglia's country Italian fare. The private dining room tucked away upstairs can seat an intimate party of twelve.
