I'm speaking as a local new yorker from Downtown West side when I write this, Little Owl is one of the best brunch spots in Manhattan. We always get great service, I tend to order the same dishes over and over and they never fail or taste differently. It's a small and cool place, I recommend it to everyone visiting... More

This is a great local spot in the West Village and it is underneath the building that "Friends' used to live in. You will see loads of people on the corner taking snaps. The brunch menu is great - delicious eggs, french toast, juices, coffee and the service is great. If you want to brunch like a local - this... More

The Owl is a wonderful, bustling little eatery in a quiet corner of the Village. Came here for brunch on Christmas Day and smashed organic poached eggs, sausage and spinach and a meatball slider, and fries. And Bellinis. What the hell it was Christmas. Really nice atmosphere, good staff and the food was proper lush. Would go back in an... More

Great food - big selection of seafood and fish (which was a great thing for me!) and all very tasty. Made from fresh ingredients. Service was great and friendly. We were lucky to get a spot on New Year's Eve at the last minute. Great little restaurant with a very cozy atmosphere. Prix-fixe menu, so not cheap, but worth the... More

The Little Owl is a charming, remarkable find in Greenwich Village. The gravy meatball sliders are superb, and I had been craving them since our visit here a year ago. The halibut, salmon, and blistered green beans are some of the best I have ever had. The service was impeccable, and we had a wonderful evening. I highly recommend a... More

Tiny restaurant with excellent food in an enchanted area worth getting lost in. The outside of the building served as "Central Perk" in Friends but the inside is a delightful restaurant with a limited menu and intimate ambiance. Met a friend for a light lunch. She and I shared a beet, pepita and butter lettuce salad which was delicious. She... More

The food was delicious. We truly enjoyed the meal and the service. The Tuna & Avocado, Cornish Hen, Enchiladas were excellent. The deserts were great also. The place is small so make reservations.

This is my second time eating at The Little Owl. I had lunch there a couple years ago and I had brunch there yesterday on my last day of my trip to New York. The food is EXCELLENT here! I got their version of eggs benedict and they were so tasty. We also got some beneighs for the table and... More

The food is good: not very complicated compositions, but tasty. A bit pricy, though, considering the size of portions. Best thing of all is the place itself, the atmosphere and even the music(!). Taking all into account (including the wonderful location in the neighborhood) made the whole experience very pleasant. Tuna-avocado toast w/ celery and crispy hen, very good; eggplant... More

So we got lost in the West Village trying to find this place and in doing so shot past our reservation time. But we pushed ahead under the banner of 'Hope springs eternal' and we were rewarded.I had always wanted to dine at this establishment. It is very much a neighborhood place where they make you feel instantly at home.The... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
