First time eating at this restaurant with family. This is, sincerely, a fabolous all around restaurant. We sat inside as it was a little bit cold. Service was phenomenal and the food was just to die for. We have not had this good food in...a while. I will definitely go back.More
Due to the pandemic side effects have been unable to go back as I used to, the first time back was truly nice. the vibe, food, and courteous staff really made my experience smooth and enjoyable. I really think that their food and flavors are...amongst my favorite in the city.More
Vic's is well located just off Bowery south of Union Square, near NYU. The modern Italian food is excellent, from scrumptious appetizers through entrees through dessert. Service is completely cordial and the room is spacious and attractive. My only quibble is that service was a...little slow. The restaurant was not crowded, so it's not clear why.More
What a treat. Fabulous atmosphere, great glass of wine and super pleasant service. I just wanted dessert and a glass of wine, but decided to have a small plate of Borsa “ravioli” (they were slow on this COVID-effected Sunday night, so accommodated graciously) and still...had room for the amazing dessert (Honey Semi-Freddo - do save the room!) Enjoy the special treatment as these amazing restaurants stay open amid this pandemic and serve us wayward souls. And tip WELL.More
A lady named Elaine from the 50s primetime diner at Disney's Hollywood Studios recommended to visit this place as her cousin is one of the managers there. We were very happy to have followed this advice because the food was fantastic, as was the service...and free sparkling water! Thank you for a wonderful experience. I would go back to NY just to eat at this place again :) :)More
Fun loud atmosphere, Apps & drinks! We went with a party of 6, definitely make reservations. There is a long bar that you can wait and order drinks. Clean restaurant with great service! Order the turkey meatballs!!!
The pizza was very good. The pasta was very good, Cacio e Pepe and Card Driver. The local beers and wine were good. But - - - the Crispy Sweet onion was spectacular. The restaurant is small and lively. Staff was great, friendly and helpful....A great evening!More
Vic's offers up solid food. Solid salads and pizzas. The pizzas are personal sized, thin crust, and wood fired. The pasta is okay, in my opinion. A little too cheesy for my liking.
Any of their bread based appetizers are amazing as is their brunch. Solid "italian fusion" let's call it.
This is a good illustration of the restaurant situation in NYC: this joint is rate 1000 something in the city, I had never heard of it, it would not have been my TA radar. We stumble on it coming out of the Sheen center and...it was our fifth choice since all the restaurants in the area were packed. We finally settled at the bar at Vic’s. It was also packed with a young crowd and a good ambiance. The four of us had a good time and shared several plates. Worth noting was the out of this world sweet crisp onions, the calamari and the castelfranco salad , all three excellent. We also tried 3 different pasta which were good. The arriabiata pizza was awful. But overall it was a great night, with the drinks on the pricey side . About $65 pp.More
We were referred by a bartender and a place a couple blocks from Vics. Being from out of town, didn’t know where to go. Locals usually have the answer. And he was right! We were looking for Italian. Found it. This place has a great...vibe, outstanding food and cool layout and design inside. One of the best cheese-black pepper pasta dishes I have ever had. It was busy and they got us in too. Not crazy pricey. Right in there with good Italian in NYC. I would highly recommend going to Vic’s. Staff was great and service was excellent. Great energy at 10 at night. I will go back when back in town.More
I thought the atmosphere and lighting of this place was great but 3 out 4 meals ordered were extremely average. My order, the pasta, was brilliant but otherwise, noone loved what they ordered which was a shame. Wine was unreasonably priced.
Visited recently with 9 of us for brunch. Food and service are both excellent. Good variety of selections and everyone was very happy with their meals. Highly recommended!
I met a couple colleagues here for dinner, and the food was great. We started with a shared order of borsa, delightful filled pasta, and had vegetables (as opposed to salads) and entrees, two fish and one pasta. All tasty and excellent, though the fish...portion looked a little small (it wasn't mine). The brussels sprouts and cacio e pepe were especially good. Wine was no more overpriced than is now normal, service was good if a little harassed; seemed as though they were missing a server on this busy Wednesday. Prices are current NYC standard. The room was deafening even when not full; don't plan on hearing your dining companions at popular times. Vegetarians eat well here, and vegans can do all right.More
