Ordered two lunch specials. Food was soaked in oil; poorly seasoned and overcooked for delivery. Thank goodness only two lunchs were ordered. Will never get food from this place again! Worst meal we've ever had. Total waste of money as some was thrown into the...garbage.More

Sometimes great discoveries are made by chance. Our first (and definitely not last!!) encounter with Shu Han Ju was one of those. We were walking down 6th Avenue, on our way to a Jazz club, looking for dinner. And there was Shu Han Ju, on...the other side of the avenue, waiting for us, so in we went. The service was welcomung and friendly. It was a little early for dinner so we had the place almost all for ourselves. We srarted with hot and sour soups which were great. this was folowed by Chicken with Cashews and Beef with h Hot Peppers. Spicy and delicious!! We shall definitely be back!! Excellent Chinese Cuisine!!More

I placed an order on-line and cycled to the restaurant to pick it up. They said their system was down, and they did not receive the order. However, my credit card was charged. They told me to call my credit card to cancel the charge....Very unhappy after cycling a long way to that restaurant.More

We ate the best ever Christmas dinner of Chinese food in Manhattan at Shu Han Ju several years ago, and were so glad to find it still there, unchanged, as excellent as ever. I had Sechuan dry pot for lunch (it isn’t really dry, but...makes it’s own very spicy sauce.) If you love serious Chinese food, this is for you.More

Great service, reasonable prices and excellent non-oily food. And you get the choice of how spicy you want it. Great fresh Chinese vegetables as well.

Great place and great food with amazing flavors. We tried the bean noodles, a tofu dish, and the fish in soicy sauce. Everything tasted amazing. Will go back for sure.

It looks pretty run of the mill from the outside, but the food is authentic and flavorful, especially if you order off the menu. The dining room is small, the portions large, the wait staff friendly, and the prices reasonable. An excellent combination.

This looks like most run of the mill, slightly worn, chinese restaurants, but hey, we mostly don't go to the local chinese for the French Michelin level vibe, do we. The service was good, the menu is pretty extensive, then prices won't scare you, and...the food was very good, and boy was there a lot of it. First time in my life I've had to surrender (as long as we're speaking of the French) to a chinese meal. I had to take the rest of this home as a night time snack in the hotel. I'd eat there again, had I only had more days in NYC! Go on, give it a try. Doubt you'll be disappointed if, like me, you go more for the food than the decor! Oh, and when you say you want spicy, you get spicy!!More

The small size restaurant has a large menu, standard seating and excellent service. They have a large Lunch Special menu which is very reasonably priced. The regular dinner menu has traditional Chinese food but, be careful as some of the food is very spicy. Be...sure to ask about the degree of spiciness. The portions are large and the food tasty. They also have a full service bar. The egg drop soup was good but the Kung Pao Chicken was excellent. The General Tso's Chicken was ok but too much bread. Shu Han Ju is a great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner.More

Had lunch here before our NYU tour. Delicious! Dumplings were so tasty. Small restaurant with laid back atmosphere. Great service. Would definitely eat here again. Thought the price was very reasonable for NYC.

The food here is fresh and not saturated in oil and soy sauce. Coming back to try more dishes! Great southern light streaming in the windows at lunch and sweet decor.

What an awesome find! I came for the scallion pancakes, which were no disappointment! YUM! Vegetable fried rice was also excellent and service was supurb.

I've always loved Chinese food, though largely ignorant or regional cuisine. In any case, I've been really happy every time I've eaten here, and will be back every time I'm in NYC.

If you feel like traditional Chinese food, this is a very decent and honest Chinese food restaurant. Good spring rolls, good scallions pancakes, very tasty general Tao chicken, yummy Thai shrimp. Very good service, efficient. For the record as we have notice on some other...review site some erroneous information: this restaurant do take credit card.More

It's the worst Chinese restaurant ever! Oily food with no taste, the delivery man was so unfriendly and aggressive, I will never order again to this place.
